That is true, jr, here are the stats you are referring to:
Favorites win approx 1/3 of the time.
Favorites come in first or second 1/2 the time.
Favorites finish in the $ about 2/3.
2nd choice wins about 25% of the time.
3rd choice about 20%.
I'm not sure this helps anyone, but its good to be aware of this.
I very rarely bet odds on, although I will play exotics with them.
In the long run, you won't win enough of them to cover your losses.
