Thunder Snow

Ok ,so its official.Another year where we get the Super horse from over there. No offense my Euro racing laddy's.

Yeah, well one day that streak will be broken, will this be the year?  I don't think there is an American Pharoah in this year's bunch, it appears to be pretty wide open.  Thunder Snow will be a big price.  While there are a few obvious contenders, I have a feeling there will be big payoffs this year due to the usual large field and lack of a big favorite.  While he's not on my top list at the moment, I will probably throw him in exotics because of this unknown.  We will see.....

Im reading here and there the favorite could be as high as 4 -1 / 9-2?

Vet, in the 20 horse field derbies, I have seen favorites that high or as high I think as 6-1 a few times.  I think there will be at least 1 or 2 long shots in the top 4 so I think we will see the big payouts.  Really, any of us could make a case for many of these.  Mikey, I saw these comments too, they don't mean much, one day a winner will come from Dubai and to me that alone won't eliminate Thunder Snow.  I like Mccraken and Irish War Cry at this moment but how to play these with the other contenders is what I trying to put together now.  I think others have a chance too, will be a fun week.....

I'll toss the Euro horses until they beat me.

This is understandable, jr, but any horse can by default make it into the money by default as others tire down the stretch.  It happens.  As I stated somewhere else the derby is less of a handicapping thing and more than figuring out who may have a clean trip (or not) and luck will be a factor in the crowded field.

I see Thunder Snow as very different from past Derby Euro touts like George Washington, Master of Hounds, Desert Party and the other turf-polys that entered the Derby and failed.

This horse has run twice on dirt and won nicely at 7F by nearly 6 lengths in a G-III and by almost a length stretching to 1-1/16 in a G-II....in a 16 horse field. One of those he beat was Master Plan.

Don't easily dismiss with checking closely for clues.

Check that....his last race was at 1-1/8M, not 1-1/16
