dumb question... for instance in r2 is 5839 the order you predict to finish?  how do you bet it? thank you

Hi CMG. I list them in the order I prefer them. For betting purposes I am a 2 horse wp bettor. I don't like to play a horse below 5/2 but will accept 2/1 as rock bottom, I will play the horse in my top3 that meets that level and my 2nd wp bet will be the horse with the higher odds of the remaining 2 If one of the top 3 is below 2/1 then I bet the other 2. For exactas I will generally box my top3 depending on payoffs.Will also put them over 4th pick and under the 4th. For tris I box the top 4. Hope that helps. 

CMG this may make it clear in r 1 my wins bets were 4-7,r2 5-8 r3 48.In r3 the 6&8 were both 3-1 so I bet 8 since it was my 2nd choice.

That's what I like to do but some folks like to key a horse rather then box. For example lets say the top 4 are 1-2-3-4. and a person thinks the 1 will win. They would key the 1 over the 234 for a $6 bet. Some will also backwheel ie 234/1 another $6.
