Good Friday afternoon, H, I&#x27;m passing today due to horrible weather here and around the eastern part of usa, I&#x27;ve changed my derby thoughts a little, I&#x27;m on Gunnevera due to the possibility of sloppy track and this is a really good horse!  I think odds will approach 20-1. Boxing with Mccracken, Irish War Cry, Always Dreaming and Classic Empire.  Also like Irap and Tapwrit.  Remember you heard it here first, unless I&#x27;m really way off...

There is no way if the track is sloppy Gunnevera will be 20-1.. prolly around 10-1 and the 4th choice

Yeah, bearfan, you may be right about that, but I still think the obvious favorites (Classic Empire, Always Dreaming, Mccraken and Irish War Cry) will be single digits, hard to gauge the public betting on this race.

I do like Irap to show to be honest and I will throw a small on place. Doug O'Neil is one of the top trainers for the derby and trained Nyquist last year. IWC is a good sleeper to win I think as well but I am still debating. GL

Yes, I know how you do this, H, unfortunately, I will be running around leading up to the derby, so I will have to bet it in advance.  I will hold back a little because of this, but I will look for your final opinion.

Yes, thanks, you too, I usually get very close on my derby picks, as I have said in other threads, derby is way more than handicapping, it&#x27;s racing luck combined with pace, combined with improving form usually and getting a good trip and trying to figure who can get the distance.  Jockeys aren&#x27;t used to being in 20 horse fields either, so it takes navigation skills and experience helps.  Good luck to you too...
