Dont know how this race graded out,maybe someone can tell me,

but I do know he held off Mc C. and received a 102 off of it.

The knock against Irap was prior to the Bluegrass he was still a maiden after 7 starts.

I dont think the that race actually got the respect it deserved in what turned out to be one of the more accomplished fields.

Highly talented Practical Joke and Tapwrit were also in it,along with New Yorker J Boys Echo.

I love this horse and think he could be sitting on another good race.

He gets out of the gate fast and sure looked good holding off a charging McCracken in the BG.

He is on the upswing. The win in the BG did him well mentally. Not saying he can win, but at his price, at least a decent under bet

The way the "experts," like the "great" Randy Moss have portrayed him, if Irap wins, he will be a combination of Giacomo and Mine That Bird!

The horse is in form right now based on his win and his work. I'll guess he'll get out, but not as cheap speed.

He actually held off Practical Joke who is the ultimate hanger, even in races he wins he runs next to horses like he's content doing so. Also don't think PJ wants 2 turns or extended distances. As for McCraken it was his first race since February when his minor issue set him back a little and only his 2nd race since November. McCraken didn't need to win the BG and many say Wilkes trained him for that race exactly that way, got him ready but not fully cranked.

McCraken looks outstanding at CD and IMO will run a big race, his biggest problem will probably be the trip he gets. As for Irap just to point at some knocks he's had 4 preps this year, last horse to win the Derby on 4 preps was Smarty Jones. He also for whatever reason cannot switch to his proper lead in the stretch, go back and watch all his races he consistently does it. Lastly I believe O'Neill and Reddam were just throwing as much garbage against the wall in all the preps to see what would stick. Both O'Neills Derby winners had a very strategically planned 2 race prep pattern.

I love how he finished the race. Of all the preps, he seemed like he had something in the tank at the finish line.

His works have been good too.

With that said, I also think McCraken was the best in the race and during that week, his connections were very clear that he wasn't going all out (although his jockey did go after him in the stretch for sure).

I bet him late last year in a maiden race based on his looks. Finished four. Keenland is a horse for course track so the jury is still out on his Blue Grass win.
He could get a 2 buck win bet out of me on Derby day.

Thanks for the response.Yes.  McC really looks like the real deal. And a stellar record at CD to boot. Just a few horses that peaked my interest.May add a couple more.
