Ben's Cat retires at the age of 11. His form has been dull of late but he won 32 of 63 races for his career.

I doubt we'll see another gelding so dominant in the years to come.

Get a load of this.....

An 11 year old was scratched from a 5k claimer @ Charles Town Wednesday by the stewards, The horse, Awesome Actor, had not raced for 6 1/2 years.

Per the DRF, stewards made the decision based on negative social media track management has received regarding the safety & health of horses.

Maybe racing needs a mandatory retirement age? 11 is pretty darn old for a horse! Most likely been playing the game for 10 yrs. by then. Not many pro athletes last 10 yrs. in sports.
