If the human race lasts another 100 years, meat eaters will be looked at the same way we look at smokers today.

It is so obvious that a plant based diet is the most healthy, planet friendly, and humane way for us to eat.

You would be abstaining from a lot of things if you knew what is going on to make things.  And not just meat and turkeys.
Look up Vietnam and their cashew nut industry.   Humans are also mistreated.

Well the good thing about life is we have choices and maybe if enough people make responsible choices then things like you mention will stop happening.

I have been a vegetarian (not vegan) for over 15 years and I believe that you are 100% on target with this.

In the last 15 years alone I've seen tremendous strides in both the quality of meatless options at the supermarket, and expanded vegetarian menu choices at restaurants. These trends will surely continue to grow in future years.

A question Micheal Vick could surely give expert advice on.

You are a joke if you eat turkey

You are a joke if you smoke...

You are a joke if you drink to excess...

You are a joke if you do not control your weight...

You are a joke if you gamble when you have overdue bills...

You are a joke if you abuse credit cards...

Can anyone else come up with things people do that are less than brilliant???

Sitting in judgement of others is fun... Come on everybody jump in...

I dont find levity about extreme animal abuses, so even if you enjoy eating turkey or meat in general, why make a joke about the subject when it is obvious animals are intentionally being treated in an inhumane manner?

I dont think it is funny...

Animals killed for food, should be done as humanely as possible.  Even if it made the price of turkey more expensive.  No reason to torture an animal like that.  Lobster in boiling water...humane.  Unconscious instantly...too bad lobster.  That turkey stuff was wrong.  I'm sure most places act more responsibly.  I wish I had more time to really care, but I have more important things to worry about than saving the world one turkey at a time.

I'm sure nobody on covers would personally torture an animal.  If we had to torture the animals ourselves, I would eat more veggies.

How can they be killed in a way that isn't inhumane?  Either you don't eat any animal or use any products that have any animal by products or you don't, no middle ground here.

    I'll tell you why.

Because it challenges them to change their lifestyle for a purpose they just don't see as meaningful in the end.

Yes they love animals, but they love the taste of animal flesh and simply won't change and give it up. They love dogs. Turkey's? Ah, get the carving knife out and cut me a leg.

Hence, they lend themselves to perpetuating the abuses (and watch again for those who need to, they are HORRIFIC abuses) of another living, breathing life that experiences all the pain we do and they simply deem that life inferior. Plain and simple.

This is cognitive dissonance of the highest order.

You sound like Allen Iverson, lol.  Turkeys!!

You are right Scal. I love animals and I do feel bad for the birds, but phuck it...It's too much to change my lifestyle.  I love the taste of animal flesh too much.  I really enjoy eating animals.  It's cognitive dissonance like you said.  Life is very unfair.  It's sad that dolphins get eaten by sharks.  The poor hyenas, it's terrible.  Imagine being ripped apart by a lion as you're about to walk into the bank.  We are so lucky to be on top of the food chain.  At least animals don't have to worry about money or mortgages and stuff like that.

Would it still be inhumane if we ate them before they hatched? They're born for the sole purpose of being thanksgiving dinner, it's kind of hard to feel bad for it, especially when I personally don't have anything vested in it. I think the people doing what they're doing in the video a "special" breed, but like Detox said there are human beings treated worse.

Plus the human race never would have evolved if our pre-human ancestors didn't eat meat.  We never would have evolved such large human brains on a raw diet.  Humans have exceptionally large brains for their body size..neuron rich brains.

The bottom line is, it is definate to survive on an exclusively raw diet in our modern day, but it was most likely impossible to survive on an exclusively raw diet in order for our human species to evolve into what it is today.

So I guess those turkeys helped make us humans what we are today.

It is so obvious that a plant based diet is the most healthy, planet friendly, and humane way for us to eat.

So meat has been eaten since the beginning of time and all of a sudden it's going to change. Please

Also, the planet friendly is bs. It's all about moderation an all plant diet is in no way sustainable just as an all meat diet wouldn't be sustainable.
