Some humans are tortured in their lifetime. Who cares about a bird? Some kid in India will die of starvation tonight and you want us to feel bad for a turkey? I barely feel bad for the kid in India.

You should create another thread about people who buy goods from Vietnam or Indonesia. This stuff is childsplay compared to how workers are treated to allow Americans have a cheap imported product.

We should only eat the turkey that was treated kindly while it was alive? A dead turkey is a dead turkey. Not saying it's right what I saw in that video, just not understanding how me eating turkey would make me a joke just because Butter Ball mistreats them.
Oh, and FYI there are more than just one turkey company out there.

Humans around the world are treated cruel. I barely even care about that. I'm barely willing to give up my spare time to help them. You want me to care how turkeys are treated?

I'll never understand this argument. It's like the abused dogs commercials. Humans are abused. Let's solve that problem before we try to solve the dog one. That doesn't make sense? The abused dogs are actually taking away donations and manpower from humans that need the help. What a world we live in. Everything you see and hear and you want me to care about turkeys.

If humans are at the top of the food chain- extend it a bit farther- If you are weaker than me- do I have the right to abuse and torture you just because I can? Remember- it's about the food chain- the strong survive and the weak perish...

Not watching the video, sure it sucks, but what about all the other animals killed for food. Are these turkeys the only creature getting poor treatment?
What about trees cut down to make paper? That's kind of cruel. Lobsters boiled alive?? Definitely cruel.

Or do we have a moral/ethical obligation to protect those "lesser" than ourselves from cruel and inhumane treatment and conditions?
There is a moral/ethical obligation to protect those lesser than ourselves from cruelty until the powerful figure out that greed is a stronger motivator than kindness.

Not only are the animals treated inhumanely- they are injected with hormones and antibiotics making their consumption unhealthy-
I agree with all of what you said..about growth hormones, living conditions etc etc...
And while I am not perfect in all decisions, I make MORE decisions now based on what is humane and just than when I was younger, and often times that means abstaining from buying/eating such things..which is probably a good thing for our health.

How do you kill an animal without being cruel? Slice their throat? Break their neck real quick? Put a bullet in their temple when they're sleeping? What's the moral/ethical way to kill an animal?
