I took the Sun Cruz out of Jacksonville when I lived there and all the time in Fort Lauderdale. They moved the boat from Fort Lauderdale so my only option is Key Largo Suncruz or West Palm Beach, which are a pan in the ass to drive to.
From what I remember about suncruz they used to provide a free meal along with a free pass on the boat. Which is a nice gesture, just because their not trying to nickle and dime you. Free drinks while you were playing also. The Princess out of West Palm is 40 or 30 bucks.
As far as being afraid of being mugged...This one time a guy had prolly won 50 or 60k on the craps table atleast. When we arrived back in port, they held everyone on the boat until he got to his car and drove away. So I am sure all you have to do is ask and they will provide this service for you if you hit a big play. there are def some shady people on that ship.
The boat out of Jacksonville had some nice flat screens with Direct TV so you could watch anything you bet on. Not sure what the Orlando ship is like.
They didn't let me place a bet until we were 3 miles out, which sucks because the earliest games you can bet are the 8 PM and anything later you had to come back to collect.

The ticket is free if you have a players card ($3 if not), and there is a free buffet (crappy food, but free).
They have 8 flat screens, but only 6 Directv boxes so only 6 games at once.
You still get cellphone reception out there so I was placing bets at online books while I was out there and getting updates on games too.
They dont let you bet until 3 miles out (45 mins) and cut it off when they start to come in (45 mins). So for the day cruise, you could bet from 11:45 am to 3:15 pm.

I go on the one out of Little River, SC. I highly advise to bring some muscle when you go to collect that 5K. I won 3K on a ticket last year and think every degen was following me on the boat for the entire cruise.

Interesting read. It would also be interesting to know if the counter guy was calling someone back on shore in the states and what the laws are as far as the other end of the phone call participating in acceptance of a wager.
I didnt see a mention of juice. Was it a standard 10 percent juice and did the 6 points you were able to get on Clemson outweigh the juice? In other words better than the standard offshore line whatever it was.
Nice to put them in their place

I dont know who he was calling. He might have been calling Costa Rica or Antigua for all I know.... But he might have been calling St Louis too.
Yes - 20 cents on all sides and totals - and yes the current line was Miami -4 so the -110 at +6 was well worth it.
One thing I am going to ask when I go to collect is buying points. Something inside me makes me think that they are going to tell me that I can buy off of any number for 10 cents, which will make me take every NFL game on 3 or 7.
I mentioned above how they had the Texans at -2.5. I was already on the 49ers big at +3.5, and thought about taking the texans at -2.5 for as much as they would let me - but I would have been laying -110 and -116, so I just decided not to. You can imagine it was bittersweet watching that game end on 3 yesterday...

Vanzack nice writeup. I live about 60 miles from there and go out on that boat from time to time and would say you described it to a tee. I generally go only a few times a year since I try to pick a bet that will begin and end before the cruise is over so I don't have to make 2 trips. I placed a bet earlier this year and noticed the Eagles to win SB odds were at 14-1 and at my online book they were 10-1 so I played that for a whopping 20 spot . Funny thing is my ticket is only handwritten with the guys initials and I questioned if they would still be here in 4 months. He said they would and are on the one that sails out of Jacksonville. If I go I usually just place a $200 bet on a side and throw some dice. If you have any good plays when you collect maybe you could post it here and I may ride out there and play it.

this was a great description. did a search on this casino and it brought me here to covers. before i even read it i told my wife that this would be good.
i am going to NC next week. rented a beach house and looking forward to it. will likely be going to the Sun Cruz ship in Myrtle Beach. i was shocked to see that they had a Sports book!

love the pictures of attractive, well heeled people (who i'm sure are never on these cruises) having fun, reminds me of those get rich quick ads where they spend more time showing you sandy beaches and fast cars than they do talking about the "product" that will allow u to retire instantly.

There is a casino boat that sails out of Fort Myers, FL ( The Big M Casino ) close to where I live here in SW FL. They have slots, BJ, Craps, Roulette, etc. - but not a sports book. Last time I took that trip was a few years back. The local Indian Casino ( once they got table games ) took a lot of the casino boats business.
