I haven't gotten past post #1, but that is not a loan, that is a donation to charity.

Take him out for lunch and let him vent to you and help him get his shit together, but no money or he'll be coming back for more next month. After all, one day he'll have his shit together, he'll be wealthy, and he'll pay you back double I'm sure
