That's a good question-
When I was reading book by book to complete the Bible, at first I was interested, then it became a bit mundane- after a while the things I was reading just made no sense-
Now, everything has spin attached to it- nothing is literal- unless we say so- (In other words, if it doesn't make sense, we don't have to accept it as truth- we leave it to interpretation - but if somehow we can make some sense of it, you better follow it to the letter)
As I went through the Bible, noone could answer my questions- I was your typical smartass teenager, so that may have played into it-
I became jaded with organized religion as I realized that the guy in the suit up front was little more than a cheerleader trying to get fans into the stadium- He is as clueless as I am about this-
Then there is the money- everytime you step foot in a church there's a new offering- pass the plate-
Last, but certainly not least, is the overt hypocrisy- The secretary is screwing the music minister, the pastor's daughter got knocked up, but I'm the sinner that needs to repent- The pope was addressed earlier- ,ore of the same, just on a global scale-
This is WAYYYYY oversimplified, and is almost a generic "what's wrong with religion" diatribe, but that's what turned me off-
Now, after all of that, if I was a "believer:, none of that would matter because my relationship with God would have nothing to do with anything I have written- many people tell me I should pray about things- the truth is- I just don't see it- I think there are a lot of really good people getting smoke blown up their asses for a price-

cacab, i think we have our answer. the demons have won. i, for one, am relieved. i'm off to the strip club and then sleep in late tomorrow. can anyone give me a good reason why i shouldn't?
and i never understood that he/she is in a better place now. the guy wasn't sick. he had a nice family. he was a priest so he was probably getting paid pretty well to just say things without ever having to prove any of it. what evidence is there that he's in a better place now? and if you are sure he's in a better place now, why don't more people go to that place voluntarily?

It certainly isnt everchanging. Where did u hear about a king not liking a certain part and changing it and please dont tell me you watched it on National Geographic. Did Mithras die on a cross and come back to life? There is no comparison to that. By the way, you seem really angry.

System, thats where the faith comes in. I am certain of the Bible, one of the reasons is because it is a history book that has predicted historical events that have come to pass throughout history all leading to an end.
