Incorrect. Maybe the humans who wrote the book back then wrongly attributed the quotes about slavery and rape to God. Maybe God is not an asshole, maybe there is a God, and maybe God frowns upon slavery and rape...yet the Universe is set up so the illusion of free will trumps the whole shooting match.

I think God will grant prayers if it fits within your life plan for him. I believe life is about finding your purpose that God has give you.

I dont think he caes about the superbowl or MLB or NBA.

What would happen if Kobe Bryant prays every night so God can give them strenght to win the NBA, BUT at the same time Kevin Durant prays exactly the same way so they can win the NBA?

What does God do in that scenario? The only possible answer i have is that God grants prayers if it fits his plan for you.

I know I should ask simple questions of god "will my team win the NBA championship," but since I have a small grasp on the size of this universe I doubt the creator of any of "the big bangs" even if it was the 20th to occur, should really care about me.

I truly think it will be refreshing once life is discovered outside of this planet (since it was only a few hundred yr's ago that we learned the earth wasn't the center of the galaxy and the sun wasn't the center of the universe)....Don't get me started because the earth was flat when these concepts got started, and ignorance explains all deity beliefs

When life is discovered elsewhere I hope religious concepts suck it up and realize they are built on BULLSHIT...Funny how Jesus was supposedly against wealth and power yet today the wealth and power have learned to exploit jesus....HMMMM in the game of Bullshit, I call Bullshit!!!!

There is something deliciously ironic about a seemingly educated man trying to convince himself and others that he knows what the game is all about. Rostos....The 2 of us couldn't be farther apart on belief of some deity making/creating us to think/behave/act like civilized species. I still don't believe in imaginary figures in the sky when the Universe has trillions of stars and even more planets, and these concepts you speak of came before we ever knew there was another galaxy out there, but your compassion for others should be noticed by all and being a "ghost believer" shouldn't totally discredit others from listening to you. In your point view: god will answer a prayer and the one that gets the job is because it was part of god plan..

I told you in earlier posts I am very happy with what I have, I help everytime I have the opportunity without even thinking about it.. but I dont need a book to tell me if Im doing right or not.. neither I would do it because a book tells me to.. I do it because I feel to, because my parents thought me those values.. and I come from a Roman Catholic family and education.. This is one of my favorites.  Free will would seem to cancel out the purpose of prayer, and prayer would seem to cancel out the purpose of free will.

 

yeah, i think we need to take it easy with the bin laden is going to hell talk.  first, as system indicates, if he found jesus or whatever he needed to do when our armed forces showed up and he knew his time was up, he goes to the christian heaven, as i udnerstand the rules. 

alternatively, his religion and his god, which he followed more sincerely than most of the part-time, cherry picking christians out there follow their religion and their god, say that he goes to heaven for how he lived his life.  if he's right, and again, he's infinitely smarter and more resourceful than your average person, he's banging (or more likely, trying to tune out after banging) some virgins right now. 

who doesn't think bin laden is in heaven and why not?  if anyone can shed some light on this question in a logical manner, i will convert to your religion and bring vanzack, KK, system, mwhit, hutch and caca with me.
