is there someone you absolutely trust in your present country to make plays for you after you text them the wagers from Thailand? this person will have to be given your password and everything to put the wagers in for you. maybe you could leave him a certain balance in your account to wager on and if it runs out or you want to cash some out i'm sure the money can be wired to you or to trusted friend.this would be temporary of course until you figure things out in Thailand.just a thought, hope everything works out for you, good luck

The only real advantage the Philippines has over Thailand is that it's easier to stay long term....
I'm not as familiar with the rules....but seems like your visa is good for 16 months or so....then you have to fly out of the country (and stay for 1-3 days)....then do it again...
More English sure......but you don't need English in Thailand anyway....it's cheaper to visit....but more expensive (mostly) to live there....in Thailand you can find work very easy if you need to.....Philippines not so much....you need to have your cash before you get there....
It's also much more dangerous....hotter....and dirtier too.....very few folks prefer the Philippines over Thailand.....I kinda like the Filipina chicks (a little) better....more titties /behind....but Thai chicks will do just fine......
It is better to be feared - than to be loved.

not much anti-American crap in the Philippines....but sure some isolated cases....
The deal is this....in the south PH.....near Minanao.....about 500 miles from Manila....and 300 or so from Cebu....is a huge Muslim region.....where the terrorist groups like Abu Sayyaf are based....with links to Al-Qaeda supposedly....
We have had 200-600 troops based there since a year or so after 9/11.....some people there feel we are there to protect our own interests (and not help them).....in the event of a conflict with China....> those basterds are getting very aggressive in the S China Sea......(attempting) to deny us the right to navigate those waters..
BTW....look for us to increase our presence there....seems like we have no choice.....Philippines has no navy to speak of....and little air force *that route in S. China Sea accounts for 1.2 trillion dollars in trade each year.....also we signed a pact in the 50's saying we would protect them (PH) in case a conflict arose

Are you speaking from experience?
I've been to the Philippines three years ago. Lost quickly in the PS-sponsored live poker tournament but decided not to stick around for side action and focus on relaxing and enjoying myself. Best decision ever. I could have died as a result of what transpired during that trip... but I had the time of my life.
Now I'm more of a married type; trying to live on a budget. That's exactly what Thailand is according to my research. A cheap place to live. Philippines, not so much. To think of it, it wouldn't make sense for things to be cheaper on a group of *islands* compared to a partially-continental Thailand.
I can understand that if you're living large, the difference between the two countries may seem negligible. But I believe Thailand is the cheaper option if you do try to live on the cheap.

PI we use to have Subic Naval Base till we lost the lease. To me the greater threat is not China but N. Korea. China we owe big time. The aggressor in The region is N. K. IMO.
To me both countries r rather 3 rd world. Medical issues, etc. cost of living may be advantageous but security and different food and cultures will need time to assimilate. Good luck whatever you decide.

N Korea may be regarded as the most dangerous DIRECT threat to us.....but here the clear danger is a China- PH conflict.....or China- Vietnam....which could/would force the US to intervene = not good at all
