I officially hate gambling now

I have an arrangement with a bookie that I don't have to pay or get paid until the end of basketball season and I am in such a humongous hole but I just keep betting everyday and am digging it deeper and deeper. I have a couple good days then lose more and more. I am getting absolutely no enjoyment out of this anymore at all.
This is like being locked in a closet and having to smoke a carton of cigarettes so you end up hating them.
I just keep betting everyday hoping by the end of the season I can at least just owe him a few hundred dollars but now it is looking like thousands and everyday I just feel sick to my stomach. I just cannot wait for the damn season to end so I will know how much I owe then I am never betting again!

I never really liked soccer..........until now ...........
 
 
All I can say is don't try to get it all back at once.......slowly chip away at it.......like you said, you have until the end of basketball season........try to cut it in half with some smart bets [money wise]................GL

I am not really chasing. I am just doing my standard $50 or $100 bets but like last night I went 0-5 so with juice thats $275. Then a winning night for me is like when $100. I am up to $1500 now and I am broke. I am trying to win it back with these $50 and $100 bets but I just keep losing. I am scared by the end of the season I am going to owe this guy over $2000. If I could just get it down to $500 I would be ecstatic.

I know $2000 probably isnt a lot for most of you guys but for me that is a lot of money will seriously fuck up my entire summer.

Are you talking about pro or college hoops? I would recommend betting on college hoops only. Pro hoops is fixed, it will bite you in the butt.

I'd say stop, but if you are going to continue to play, you need to stop what has been failing for you.  I'd pick one solid guy on here with a proven track record and FLAT bet his card daily.  Somebody like Stuckey during March could help you.  A handful of games over 500 and you can cut that defecit easily...BUT DON"T KEEP DOING THE SAME STUFF YOU HAVE BEEN

yeah because college players making a total of 0$ arent capable of throwing games .......open your eyes, ok?

The best approach to solving this...

If you really don't have to pay till the end of the year... simple... you bet the 1,500 you are in the hole on the next game.  If you win... you are even quit gambling for ever... if you lose... your down 3k... put 3k on the next game... if you win you are even if you lose you are down 6k... Next time bet 6k... and so on and so forth until you hit a game... and then quit for good

That is unless there is a maximum wager... or you never pick another correct spread in your life

I can't stop now. I will just keep going until the end of the season. I am not raising my bets chasing or anything. Just can't wait for it to be over. This experience has totally ruined any enjoyment I ever had out of gambling.

   Read my post on the Superbowl in NFL Forum Wagerline ( not Covers). I have picked the winner in 10 consecutive Super bowls.

I tell you this because I am on old timer and know what I'm talking about.

It's all about money management, increasing your bets only after you win during the season, culminating on the final game.

Stop playing right now.Take a break..The basketball season is still young. You can get even on March Madness.

Your only going to play just few games before the season ends.

Call your man and tell him your taking a break for a week or so.

Great idea. The problem is that will the bookie allow him to bet that much?

That sounds like a good idea. I do need a break cause it is starting to get to me. I should stop then try and make a run in March Madness. It's doable.

Do you have a pet monkey? If not a monkey, then I guess a dog will do.

What you should do is write down the 2 teams on separate papers that are playing against each other in tonight's game. Put the 2 separate papers on a table and let your monkey or dog choose the team that will cover. Follow the same procedure if you are playing more than 1 game.

Since you are so bad at betting on basketball, why don't you just fade yourself?

I have only been betting college mostly. Actually the few NBA games I have bet I have done decent on. lol.

I just am freaking out cause its got to the point where its getting to be a lot of money for me. When I was down $500 I was cool and confident I would get it back. $1000 I started sweating and now $1500 it is pretty scary for me. I gotta start winning eventually. It seems almost like If I keep going odds have got to start going in my favor. The odds of losing that much are the same as the odds of winning that much. Noone can just consistently pick losing bets everynight can they? Thats almost like a talent in opposite land.

legwand, you seem like a cool guy.  I would give you the $1,500 if I win the lottery. NO joke, I'm serious about this.

Anyway, have you considered betting on something else like baseball or golf?  There is money to be made in those 2 sports.

Two choices:

Increase bet size or quit. 

You sound like you have a gambling problem.

Bet 3 games for a nickel apiece.
