a millennia ago  Saxon king was translating the bible to English. and the lords of England constructed the doomsday book, chausier spoke of the corruption in the church "if gold tarnishes what become of iron?"not much changes in 1,000 years in my humble. opinion

Obama is government property the poor man cant simply walk out of the whitehouse go down to the store and buy a pack of smokes.
most men of wealth or fame couldn't it is not tolerated.

institute of slavery is evil by the nature of humans. mostly I see someone gets dumped on and in turn dumps on someone else.
but government enslaves the masses more subtly than to state you are owned. so we are slaves to our self our emotions and our wants desires dreams.

    the bible contradicts itself.
the document wasn't written by one man at one time but a few men over hundreds of years facing different trials. Moses leading Hebrews from Egypt I don't believe anticipated Babylon destroying Jeruselem and leading the best tradesmen to  Babylon. Solomon didn't face the temples destruction in 70 ad when he planed to build the temple.
I believe these men saw what was there mostly what they were facing. They did what all societies do
what we face they face same they were poor humble servants of god became well off through blessings found they needed no god arrogant forgot where they came from and they lay destroyed to repeat the cycle.
The story really doesn't change that much. from any empire new or old.

Please stop with the semantics, you know damn well what I mean by slavery. A person that is bought and sold against their will, a person's possession. And I don't need to give you examples, just read your bible. It tells you how you can beat your slave and how long you can have your slave. I don't give me the bad apolologetics that it was a different time or that was the culture. If that is "gods word" it would be easy for "god" to say do not own slaves, do not rape...

A book that contradicts itself, condones slavery, rape, genocide, and murder, and devalues women is not a book I would hold in high regards...

Thats all you are doing, whenever you make a moral claim, you are actually confirming Theism.

This has been answered numerous times in past threads, go back a read it again...

       and you do...

Overview.. The old testament speaks of the creation of the world, Give us the Law, the Ten Commandments. And predicts a Messiah.

The new testament fulfills the Messiah and the Trinity.

    You're skipping a lot...

Who predicts his death ? Who teaches the law, suffers unspeakable cruelty, and gives up his life for others ?

Many people have suffered unspeakable cruelty, given their lives for others, and I'm sure have predicted their death...by the way, thats a story...

And, shows unconditional Love, and Hope ?  Who does that ?

Still waiting for how this is shown

    Only one.

Again, what are your exact examples of slavery and rape being condoned?  Not how slavery was handled since it was already in place. Where are you implying that rape and slavery were condoned by any religion?

well if you include noahs arc you will find 2 peter offensive.
but this is where I part ways in the discussion.
your soul is eternal your vessel temporal and 100 years is a blink to eternity.

2 peter ch 3 vs 7-18 this one comes to mind.
gives me hope. gives ungodly concern
science confirms when our star or a star nearby or our galaxy or a galaxy nearby  goes super nova
    this earth will be vaporized.
our star will its not if its when the he2 molecule constructed by fusion starts to become lithium our star will be a red giant the circumference expands to about the mars orbit if it can stabilize then it can remain at that state if it doesn't it will collapse and then destroy the solar system - astrophysics project eli.

funny how the baseball gods induct two, and only two guys(new gods) into the hall this year. one a former first overall pick, the second a 62 rounder.
    both religious.

the former #1 almost OD on 277 pills when he was 18 years old...
    religious himself!

the 62th rounder said to have faith in the righteous man and never gave up hope he would make it big.

    its always ironic... always...

one light skin, one dark skin man...

in modern day, theyre our "new gods"

we worship our sports... thats why we are on COVERS! yee

can i get a YEE or AMEN?

It's pretty simple, if you are ok with a book that tells you how you can beat another person with a rod as long as you don't kill them, then you are ok with treating other humans as less than human and you are a shitty person. And the book you follow is a shitty book to follow for morality...you can stop with all the other semantics of slavery...and no, I am not property of my government or job...
