But we have to coddle this generation. They make excuses for everything.

This is somewhat true.  My business partner has a friend who works for a large company.  They did a HUGE study to better understand how to motivate their employees / manage performance.

The biggest thing they found is that "today's employee" requires much more positive reinforcement and much more frequent rewards, etc.

And I've seen that in my work in employment.  When you are dealing with 20 somethings, they TEND to bolt at the first sign of adversity.  You would not believe the number of unemployed people I talk to who just quit their job (without another one) because of their boss or the difficult environment or the fact that the company wronged them in their opinion.

They definitely have a lower tolerance for adversity.  That is a fact.

it because my generation- 20 somethings, are used to, and expect instant gratification in everything.  Dealing with adversity is an obstacle to instant gratification which is why im not surprised by the results of your business partner's study.

Similar type deal where a lot of folks can't seem to live if they don't have their cell phone glued to their ear or are texting.

I have a nephew who plays a LOT of video games and he has his phone with him while he plays....and he will hit "pause" so he can text people back.  It's unbelievable.

And he's a very good kid and a great student.  They just can't get enough stimulation so it seems.  Just watch when you go to the store (especially the grocery store or even people out for a walk or a bike ride).  People just can't live if they aren't texting or yapping on their cell phone.

The cellphone epidemic has it this nation hard. I chuckled while stopped at the intersection earlier. To my right a female staring at her phone, to my right two male passengers both staring into those tiny screens. Everywhere I go really. At a ball game, grocery store, even work. Its quite pathetic actually.

Sometimes I think I don't belong in this era. I would've loved to have in my prime during the 50s 60s even 70s. To kick back read a newspaper old school. Now that same newspaper just wants you to visit their digital edition for more content. Its all bogus.

    That study is so true!

You guys are spot on with the cell phones.  People will cross the street without looking, staring at their phone.  It's amazing.  Wait, no, actually it's kinda sad.

I'll throw most of you off with this...  There's a war going on outside, no man is safe from.  It's a silent war.  A deadly war.  Frequencies and microwaves.  It's very real.  You want to understand why we see people in today's society so glued and transfixed over something so insignificant?  Look no further than frequencies/microwaves and GMO..  Amongst other things like anti-depressents/anxiety scripts etc etc...  It's called Eugenics.  And there plan has been in action for sometime now.

I can relate, bizkilla, for wanting to rather have lived in the 50's 60's or 70's.  This world is going in a direction that I'm just not feeling.  For example, GM ships jobs overseas to China and who gets the job?  Nobody.  A fcking ROBOT.

But, to try to get back on topic about the drooling cell phone zombies to the lazy basement dwellers, I'll say this.....

    WE ARE LOSING THE WAR.

If you don't know your enemy and the weapons they use against you, then you can't fight that enemy, you shouldn't even be on the battlefield.
