Another question for those supporting Brown?

Would any of you feel different if it had been the convenience store clerk who shot him? I know a lot of those Asian owned store owners are packing heat.

Randy. Don't think that is really off topic. It has a lot to do with it. Whether it is the way we all raise out kids to the way we don't want to speak out about radical Muslims to unwed pregnancies to not graduating HS. No way when I was younger would I have been allowed to do things kids do today. We for sure are afraid to hurt people's feelings. Look at what is happening in parts of Europe now. It is not just here. You cannot tell people how to raise kids. But you can quit subsidizing or tacitly encouraging the behavior by other folks that don't raise their kids.

Personally those thugs and looters should be shot. People's livelihoods and businesses are gone now. Just kill those thugs no loss.

The African American community will be the African American community as long as it feels it is not part of the whole.

One thing that keeps sticking in my mind is comparable cost. I love the phrase "comparable cost"...

An unwed mother on welfare/food stamps/housing... Her child who will probably grow up on the streets and stands a good chance of being incarcerated... VERSES An unwed mother who is paid a bonus $200 a month for attending college(For example) and $10,000 upon graduation of nursing school. Plus a child that has a better than average chance of NOT being incarcerated...

My thought is compare the cost over the lifetime of the mother and child in each scenario... Plus the effect on future generations. I think the additional money the mother receives would be a bargain for me and America in the long run...

The problem is my solution is not a quick fix. Yes, I am throwing money at the problem, but I feel we are getting something for our buck.

Long term solutions are what is needed. Nothing can be "fixed" quickly. We need honest discussions and solutions. Right now the structure of the entitlement programs is just to keep things as they are. And that is the problem. Things change constantly and if they are not improving they ARE getting worse.

I would rather pay a lump sum up front (pay for a college education) than be bleed to death by entitlement programs and prison and another generation of entitlement programs and prison and on and on and on generation after generation...

NOT all African Americans fall into my scenario... BUT enough do...

Again, I ask... Where is the President? He ain't running for another term, now is his chance.

And I still wonder where the haters are? Perfect opportunity to take a shot at me... Especially now that I have dissed their deity by asking: Where is he?

Who knows what kind of mindset he was in. He could have been mad, he could have been calm. Either way it's as irrelevant as him stealing from a store. All that matters, as far as the shooting goes, is did he attack police? If he attacked police then it's self defense. My point is that the robbery has zero to do with the isolated incident of the police shooting. All that matter is if he attacked cops.

Easy common sense rules to follow .... 1) Don't do dumb sh*t and 2) be polite to the police.  He probably broke both rule #1 and #2 and got an early ticket to the after life.  Sometimes this is how life goes

Yeah, more immature name-calling.  That always helps the discussion, right?

It WILL be overlooked because it had NOTHING to do with the shooting.  What special part about that do you NOT UNDERSTAND?

Last point, Cops work for the PEOPLE... NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.

As tax-paying citizens we expect Cops to follow laws and exercise restraint at all times.  THAT IS YOUR JOB.  Yes, even when a suspect tries to take your weapon.  DOES NOT give you the right to empty a clip into the subjects back while he has his hands up in the air.  And as if that wasn't enough... Last shot fired into Brown's forehead.

But something tells me that we won't be seeing this American on ABC, CBS, or NBC tomorrow morning. But we will see Jesse and Al walking hand in hand with a few adoring financial contributors while the cameras shy away from the dismantled store fronts from the night of looting. In Gentry's own words, "I want to apologize as a black person for how hypocritical and idiotic we've become."

I do believe you're right about the robbery having nothing to do with this kid being dead, but it's just being used as a rebuttal as the innocence that was being portrayed. I haven't really been following this story, but surprised it's only local rioting from what I have seen.

GoldenGoose, you seem like a spineless, gutless jellyfish. You talk about "my generation", "WE did our part", etc. I wouldn't be surprised if you were a draft dodger. You don't add anything but crap to this forum. Your crotch must hurt from riding both sides of the fence...
