will look to scoop up one of the 3 elite second basemen with my second pick. then with 3rd pick (at the turn) will either take a pitching stud or maybe even top flight catcher..not sure yet. those will be picks 20 and 21 overall.....any thoughts on these 2 picks??

I also had the 1st pick in my draft but it is a H2H League with 10 teams. I took Pujols 1st and when it came back to me I drafted Hamilton and Lincecum. I think you can wait on the catcher. I got McCann with my 4th round pick. Just a bit of advice. Take it or leave it. BOL this year!

I suggest that you take Pujols. He should have a GREAT season this year, not that he doesn't every year. And getting a really great 1st baseman is hard to come by. Furcal would be around for the wraparound in the 3rd round if you want a shortstop and as your 2nd pick, you could still get one of your great 2nd basemen. Or...if you want to go with Hanley, grab Tex if he's still around for round 2 because shortstop and 1st basemen are pretty tough to find real producers after the 1st round with Hanley, Rollins and Reyes all gone by that time. And sure maybe Lincecum, Santana or Sabathia will be gone by round 4 but no need to get a top of the line pitcher because there are a lot out there who can produce. Maybe not as good but good enough. Just try your hardest to get Soria. He could have an outstanding season if the Royals can just have the lead going into the 9th.
Just my .02 there. Good Luck.

Actually...thinking about it. 1st basemen aren't all that tough to come by. After looking at ESPN's projections, Votto is the 13th ranked 1st baseman, Pena is 12th, and even Adrian Gonzalez is ranked 10th, so maybe getting Hanley is the smart choice. 3rd base is what I was thinking of. Zimmerman is 12th there, 8th is Atkins ect. Hope you make the right choice.

dont go with topflight catcher, they simply dont exist, take best available and take a catcher late in draft, in 10 team league still decent talent there and pick can be used to grab solid arm or some power, gl
