I think for the most part this thread was helpful for a number of players making it to the playoffs last season.

CBSSports.com reports Denver Broncos RB Knowshon Moreno (knee) wore a normal practice jersey Wednesday, Sept. 9, after wearing a no-contact jersey during practice Tuesday, Sept. 8. Moreno is recovering from a sprained knee, but he should see playing time Week 1.

Darren Urban, of AZCardinals.com, reports Arizona Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin (hamstring) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 9. He said Tuesday, Sept. 8, that he will be able to play Week 1.

Saints | Thomas misses practice Wednesday

Brian Allee-Walsh, of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, reports New Orleans Saints RB Pierre Thomas (knee) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 9. He is considered questionable for Week 1.

Birdman- I would worry about Pierre.... Use a site like kffl.breakingnews.com to check inactives 30 minutes to the noon kickoff. I figures something was bothering him as M. Bell saw as much time as him with the 1st unit offense in preseason week #2, Did not play in the game against Raiders week #3
 
I would have a hard time endorsing L White against the Steelers defense. White only gained 48 yards on 15 carries with 1TD in last year's matchup.
 
I think I would lean Satana Moss in his career has three career 3-touchdown games and two of them have come against the Giants.
 
Jw1ls-  I think the Jets D will be improved with Ryan at the helm. Schaub may have been limited in preseason action with the ankle sprain...Think Hasslebeck is the better choice.
 
I think for now I go with Moore over the disgruntled Marshall.... BTW Stewart I think is unlikely to play in week #1 (Achilles injury)
 
I like Royal matchup vs Cincy... Lean Desean over Holt

Philly has a history of terrible openers with the exception of last year vs STL and the pickle juice game @ Dal.  Go with Hasselbeck.

1 rb - julius jones, felix jones , jamal lewis, chester taylor or i could start a 3 wr lance moore (have steve smith and cj but league does allow you to go 3wr /1rb)

Tough choice.......I'd probably go with Bush vs Detroit. Hightower maybe second, he's starting, for now.

 

Of course, Felix could go wild......but at most what is he looking at 10 carries or so?

Is it a PPR league? If yes, then Bush hands down. If not, tough call, but I would wait until Jones proves himself (maybe stupid) before playing him.

I'd probably go with Moore vs Det.

 

Bowe's QB situation is up in the air and they are playing Baltimore.

I have an irrational hatred of all Buffalo Bills WR's.....so I may not be being terribly objective on Lee Evans....but I don't like him much in general........certainly not this week vs NE.

Thanks for the responses    Hasselbeck is unanimous decision.
 
umgmu- I think Bush has the best matchup, my question here is what is his role this year. Pierre Thomas is listed as questionable this week, so maybe that increases his touches. But I am a firm believer that M Bell is going to be the guy getting the ball in goal line situations.
 
Gales- I think Schaub is probably the safest choice... but I think NY Jets will better on D with Ryan. Schaub has missed some time in the preseason with ankle injury...so not sure there will be some rust.  I would avoid playing Edwardsvs the Pats. I think Hill should be given some consideration... He played very well at the end of the 2008 season. Would like to see him have had a Crabtree, but Bruce and Morgan should see some balls. For your other question I think JJ will get the most opportunities.
 
Swan - I think I go with Moore....Saints torched this team like everyone else last year. Evans is to much of a Jekyll and Hyde player more my taste. Appears 1 week and disappears 3. I like Bowe as a receiver but agree loss of Cassell and playing against Baltimore D does not sound like a great opportunity to score points.

As for your question, I like Hasselbeck this week/year.  With the addition of Housh, that offense could be in store for some big numbers.
