Fantasy League Discussion Part #9

My problem is that Cargo is a huge SB guy for me. But he's worthless now because all he does is hit homers.

They can be as kind as they want but it if is something absolutley stupid like 2 free agents for a top closer it will not be happening. You got yourself in this mess now you have to get yourself out. I could give you Delmon Young with some helping pieces for a pretty good player but thats about as much as i personally can do

i say we Bag the "Keeper League" unless we keep 1 guy only, it would of been so much different if we known this awhile back..

look sparky, i want to help u but the only real need i have is SV's so in order to do u a favor i need to get something i need for my team..  

how about i help u tonight by getting you AJ and we trade for some1 else as a temp spot until sunday then i'll trade u back the temp guy for Marmol on sunday so i have him Monday for the new week

what are u gonna decline it if he agreed to it?  if he got a player he NEEDED to fill a roster spot and a guy he wanted then so be it, its not your team.....u let every other trade go through this year remember

Delmon Young does nothing for me. My OF depth is solid. I just need a catcher nobody wants.

But yes...if this were a keeper league...you'd be stupid to trade Leake for Magglio let alone Cargo as well. So many of these trades would not have gone down if we went into it knowing this.

Yes...you need saves. So do I. If I give up saves, I give up on the season. And if I'm giving up on the season by doing that, I might as well not even bother with a closer. I mean...why help someone else if all it's going to do is knock me out completely?

It's not just about facing you...I need Marmol if I have any chance. 6 weeks is a while and I have a snowballs chance.

Marmol/Storen can beat you this week. My offense is good even without a catcher. As you can see by how close our stats are.

Now that is something he should do if he needs a catcher

That's the thing...I don't want a top of the line catcher. I just want a free agent that nobody else wants to fill Buck's role while he out and then someone will be dropped when he comes back.

I need a catcher NOW but I'll need a closer once Buck comes off the DL. Then what do I do with Buck? It's a waste of a bench spot because what is dropping him gonna do since I can't pick up anyone else?

im done wasting my time, Good luck with that Snowballs chance sparky..     and just to clarify a few things,cargo isnt a huge concern with me, at the time of the trade Magglio was on Fire and i threw u Leake to make room for DeLaRosa.. 

yes Cargo's a good player and his upside is skyhigh but u act like he's the best in the league or something..  if we do a Keeper League it should be done right and not at week 18, if we do do it then it should only be 1 guy cause like you said earlier, so many trades wouldnt have happened in this league     you think i want to Bag the Keeper league now cause of Cargo...  i have 2 guy on my team now i would take over him...  

 

and ManRam, if sparky said to you tonight to grab AJ and another SP off FA list for Marmol your tellin me you would decline it and not do it ?? i doubt it and we wouldnt be able to do anything about it..     

I would have no problem picking up a catcher for you and the pitcher you want but i just dont like the ethics behind it. Does not seem fair someone getting a free player or 2. I will let it go if its a ok deal and even maybe if it is a little lopsided just so you can be helped out but i cant let a trade go through which involes 2 free agent pick ups for a great player. Im pretty sure the league will have my back on that one. Like i said it just does not seem right and not fair for those fighting for the playoffs and thats pretty much everyone. Hope you get where im coming from

Trust me when i say this your team is the last of my worries and i would not be doing this for me but the league itself. I dont go up to my room and rub one out because im making life difficult for a fantasy manager. I try to keep everyone happy. I highly doubt anyone would allow this. You guys can try what you want but if they say no then it is no sorry

Compare stats. He IS one of the best in baseball. Yahoo has him ranked 5th this season.

And I think you want to bag it so I could trade you Cargo now because you seem to really want him. To be honest...I'm not buying anything you say about him.

 

And I can answer that for ManRam. YES. Hell...if someone offered that to me I'd take it. The thing is...YOU offered that. I did not.

  dude, i'll say it one more time,  i dont care that much about cargo and no thats not the reason i want to bag it, i said we should do it right from the beginning and people would draft differently guaranteed...   thats the reason !!! deciding to do a Kepper League in week 18 isnt something to many would say yes to UNLESS its a FEW GUYS, 1-2, maybe 3 tops...   i wouldnt trade you Dunn + someone else anyway for Cargo.. i would be losing stats if i did..  lets just drop the situation, good luck to you and goodnight...   oh and u really think Uriss would've of traded strasburg if he knew weeks ago it was gonna be a keeper league??  doubt it..    many of us including you wouldnt have done trades, regardless im in for whatever is decided by the league, i was voicing my opinion on the matter and u think i want to bag it cause im trying to get cargo away from you when thats not the reason..  

 

As I said when responding in the league...I would never have traded Crawford, Price, Ubaldo and Heyward. Also...I wouldn't have gotten Heyward after the 10th round and Price would be a top 2 round pick. So we agree on that part.

However...I don't believe that you "dont care that much about cargo". I'm sorry bud but he's the real deal. And if this was a keeper league, as I said, I KNOW you wouldn't have traded Leake OR Cargo for the aging Magglio. Keeper Leagues cause for a whole lot more strategy and some trades that are an easy decision turn into very difficult.

Can I get a solid answer? I want to make Cargo available but I won't if we're keeping guys from this season.

 

So far...me, powerade, phillyfan and URISS are against it.

iSTEAL, KissTheBaby, bluejays, 2169 and Roundin are for it.

 

Personally...I don't think it's fair for the reasons I've mentioned before. I also don't think it's fair because not only can I not pick up free agents anymore, I can't trade anyone on my team because I was "blindsided" with this decision to make this a keeper.

I'm bitter...sorry if that came out wrong, I just feel that I have a small chance to get back into this thing but it won't happen if I can't move anyone.

This just hit me...a nice comparison.

It's like saying, we have 8 playoff spots, then come August, it's knocked down to 6. You're playing 1 way the entire time and then have a different mindset.

Oh well...

Not a problem. But I'm shopping Cargo regardless. My offer is still on the table for powerade if he's interested.
