Yon Gomes, the ONLY Brazilian player EVER in mlb pinch hits with edwin on 2nd after hitting a lead off double and johnson and escobar striking out, hits a HOMER to put the total OVER, thus saving my bacon on the night... Thanks Yon!

sparky, soccer lines are a bit different... in north american sports like basketball and football when the spread increases it goes in half point increments, but in soccer since it is a low scoring sport the spread increments go by quarter points.... so if the line is pickem/-0.5 (which is also referred to as -0.25) and the book decides to move the line, it will go to a pickem, or -0.5... if the spread is -1 and the book decides to move it up it will go to -1/-1.5, unless it's a full point half point movenment at once which is less frequent, most soccer lines move in the 0.25 increments

thanks sparky, same to you Soccer is my favorite sport and easiest to cap. But when I do lines like -1/-1.5 it means 1/2 my bet is on the -1 line, the other half is on the -1.5 line.
So say Germany Would win 1-0 when I have -1/-1.5. I'd lose half my bet and get the other half back as a push. Now if I had Holland +1/+1.5 I'd push half my bet and win the other half. Do does that make sense?

for soccer I am allowed to take the lines off of 5dimes where they have some of the best odds for soccer. I like doing certain split bets like that because it lowers the risk and has a better reward imo.
like instead of PK -175+ and ML +150.... I rather have the PK/-0.5 at +110 or so

damn, i need to just start betting the games i select for my Pool and Orangemen44's pool. im 24-5 L29 in my pool and 31-12 L43 in his pool. a combined 55-17 record last 3 weeks in both pools.
but the games i bet on with real money last 2 weeks have been crap.

Alright. I understand that now. But here's something you won't be able to explain to me.
The total for Ireland v Spain is 2.5 and the over is -127.
Spain's Team Total, when bought to over 2.5, is -233.
That makes no sense. I understand the -.5 lines and the moneylines are sometimes a few cents off even though the same outcome is needed...but over 100 difference on this line? And the more difficult outcome costs more?
Explain?
