Hi guys, long time reader, first time poster.  Usually for games with large spreads like this I like to go with the underdog and the over.  Case in point, if A&M scores 17 points I can't lose and will either push (minus juice) or win.  If A&M gets 17, then Texas will need to score at least 53 to cover the spread and the game will be over.  A&M has only NOT scored at least 17 pts once in 11 games (their first game when they scored 14).  I won both ends with the Arizona/Washington St. game.  The spread was 41 and O/U was 56.5.  Basically WS had to score more than a touchdown and it would be a push or a win.  Final score was 59-28, Over and WS.  What do you guys think of doing the same thing on this game?

ALOHA EVERYONE!!

Still on my family vacation but found some time to get on here as we prepare for a huge family Thanksgiving Luau for Thursday.

This seems like a lot of points for my Longhorns to be giving but after looking at the stats between the two I could not find a reason why I should go against my Longhorns.

I feel that the Texas A&M defense cannot stop the Longhorns from scoring in bunches in this match up. Although the corners are young for the Longhorns they can hold their own. The front seven of Texas should be all over the A&M o-line the whole game, but that's just my opinion....

this game will be nationally televised on abc..texas needs to impress the voters..no one else is playing tomorow night, so the stage is set..a&m is no slouch on offense and texas defense gives up points..a&m should keep it close until the middle of the 3rd quarter then texas will pull away,.,my pick and im really happy with it is the over..huge play for me..over 67.5

I think A/M does just enough to cover the 5 TD spread.

man... i watch this game every freaking year... and every year Texas is supposed to smash them... and every year they are losing at halftime, or barely winning...
 
it's not impossible for Texas to cover... but you're looking at maybe a 15% proposition laying 35+ with Texas... this game simply doesn't end up in a blowout, no matter how much better 1 team is over the other... it does not happen!

and the argument that Texas needs style points... that is such an over-rated argument... as if Texas A&M won't have any say in the matter?  teams that are worried about style points instead of worrying about winning the game almost always come out pressing and make mistakes... and the closer the game stays, the more they press, and the more they don't stay disciplined in their gameplan...
 
simply a bad angle to use in handicapping a game... especially when the spread is this huge...

I like Texas but A&M has found a way to score at least 21 points or better in every game they have played this year so they are getting 35 which puts them at 56 most likely. Now Texas has scored 52 a couple of times this year and they did have 56 one time so they have to score more than they have all year while A&M has to score less than they have all year!

Happy Thanksgiving to all - Random Question - How does the Big 12 tiebreaker work?  If TTU, UT, and UO all end up with one loss and they beat each other in the round robin, What is the next tiebreaker??

Wow alot of points here...36. Well the only thing that I am thinking is that it seems as if Texas has never beaten them by a boat load of points, so how in the world could they cover this much. Then again Vegas knows this and knows that you are aware that A&M has played it close to the vest. So they come out with a line of 36 on this game to make you drool. Seems easy, seems like a good value play to take A&M.  I am going the opposite here. Im going with Texas, seems all too obvious that A&M should cover, the line was set high to bait A&M backers, TEXAS to the bank.  love me or hate me. Happy Thanksgiving.

the aggies lost starting DT patterson plus starting safety hunter at baylor and MARGIN of victory counts for texas so look for colt  mccoy to have a field day...finding quan cosby and shipley for a couple of long td passes, colt has been lights out all season and is still in the heisman race...plus a win would give him a school-record 31wins passing vince young and phil simms...plus mack brown is going for career win 200...texas 77-22...happy thankgiving ...

As a UT fan, this game scares the hell out of me most years since it is a rivalry. But, this year, wet toilet paper offers more resistance than TAMU's defense. Going w/ the over and UT -35, stacked heavy. GL ya'll

This is exactly what I will do also. Very seldom do I get burned with this kinda bet.

The tiebreaker is based on where the 3 teams are ranked in the BCS standings.

A&M is the play at -35.5, that is an absolutely huge number of points for a team to win by..i know style points are what texas is going to be playing for but 35.5!!!! come on that seems like a little much, especially if you look back and see the scores over the last few years..

A&M is a lousy team this year, but I have to agree. Hey at least we are winning right out of the gate. Small play just to say I was right, and small enough that if I lose I really won't care.
