A lot of people are talking about Ohio St.'s great defense. Can someone please tell me what teams with GREAT offense the Buckeyes beat?

If you think Ohio State pulls off the victory then obviously you think they cover. Ohio State D played Penn State pretty tough even if they didn't get the win, held them to less points then USC. The point here is all the pressure is on Texas, this was Ohio State's year to win the National Championship and they blew it. Doesn't mean they aren't a good team. Plenty of value in these guys, not sure if they win the game but I think they cover the spread. Hope for a SU win!

Look out.......Ohio St could be the new Notre Dame.......they have been getting matched up in bowls that they have a hard time lining up with the team they are asked to play. Ohio St hasn't won a big game in a couple of years........They barely excaped Wiskey with a last minute, low scoring win this year.......USC mudstomped them.......Penn St beat them in their house with all the Big Ten marbles at stake!! They have been murdered the last two years in the big game!!!! Now they bring in a slow, plodding, run oriented team that didn't even win the weak Big Ten??? Big Ten with only one straight up win this year in the bowls???? I don't think I can get on the sweater vest's side of this one.........
Irish, yes, they did get mudstomped by USC but they played that game without their best player, Beanie Wells, who is, with out question, a game changer. Even with that said, it may not have made a bit of difference but will never actually know if there would have been a change in final score. Not saying OSU would have won but would it have been closer. USC does play at the shoe next year but Beanie will be playing on Sunday's. Everyone talking about how Penn State lost to USC in the Rose Bowl a home game for USC. Play that game on a neutral field in the GA Dome and split the crowd 50/50 and outcome might be different.
We won't know how strong or weak the Big 12 is until the end of the week. But Oklahoma State lost, Texas Tech lost, Kansas beat Minnesota (one of the weaker big 10 teams), Nebraska squeeked by Clemson, and Mizzou got lucky to get by the "Harvard" of the Big 10, Northwestern.

Amusing to see the majority of posters taking such extreme, absolute positions on this game. Even when you throw out the homers for each team, some are acting like this a slam-dunk one way or the other. This is a pretty good line, imo, and those who feel strongly about Texas have to admit they should be concerned about the one point over a TD spread. Those who feel OSU has a great defense should ask themselves who of consequence has OSU beaten in YEARS! I appreciate everyone's passion, but the truth is, this should not be a large bet for anyone (even though one side will win and come back bragging.) Make a small play and save your money for a safer bet on Thursday's big game.
How can anyone supporting OSU ignore the deplorable record of the Big 10/11? The conference is weak, very weak. Even their conference champion, supposedly the best they have to offer, for the past few years has been humiliated in big bowl games. OSU's offense is horrible, and their defense hasn't played but one decent (not great) offense, which was USC. Texas has a high-flying offense, but plays in a conference which has Arena Football like defenses, so who knows what it will do against a decent (not great) defense like OSU? Weighting it all together, Texas should win, but the game should be between 3-10 points which makes it too close to bet big. I suggest a small play whichever way you lean, saving your betting money for Florida which does look like a slam dunk.

Bucks beating that took place against USC this year was with an injured no show of Beanie and a non mobile Boeckman. Big ten not as versatile as certain conferences (SEC) but Big 12 not as versatile either - only difference IMO is the experience in the QB position (Colt) Bucks have grown more than many teams this season from start to finish - more pride with Bucks in this game. 2 unit play on Bucks and a 1 unit play on over.

The 8.5 spread is pretty high. Personally i dont think this is a huge play because I could see it going either way.
My play today may be to tease this either way.... Either UT -2.5 or OSU +14.5 & O 46. Leaning more towards the OSU w/points.

I also agree with you about motivation: both teams have a LOT to play for. I expect the intensity to be high on both sides at the beginning of the game. That sometimes works against you, especially in a precision type offense like Texas runs, but can be an asset for a defensive minded team. If I won the toss I would definitely choose to defer if I were either coach.

OSU has to be sick of hearing everyone say that they cant beat elite teams anymore. Everyone keeps bringing up the USC game and stating that OSU cant win big games out of the Big Ten. On the other hand, I am sure that all Texas is hearing is that they should kill OSU like USC did. Texas is going into this game with the illusion that OSU is a weak team that can't win big games. But I see OSU comming out with a chip on there shoulder and possibly winning this game. With that said......LETS GO WOLVERINES!!!! 2009-2010 Year of the MICHIGAN WOLVERINES!!!

You could see more than 10 players get drafted after this season alone. That includes the top RB (Beanie), CB (Jenkins) and second best LB (Laurinaitis) in the draft. And that doesn't even include the best player on the field tomorrow night: Terrel Pryor.
How many of these seniors will be eyeballing the NFL, focusing on not getting hurt. I've seen it to many times, lots of talent who are thinking about the paper. OSU is the team that doesn't show up, that is, until draft time.

I'm a Longhorn fan so I figure since my Dolphins already got their a$$ kicked by the Ravens and out of the playoffs I might as well cheer for the Longhorns and invest on them for entertainment purposes today.
Although the young Texas corners have been pretty solid all season they do have me worried in this one. Pryor is moblie and may catch the Texas defense over pursuing.
Tough one to call but like I said I'll be cheering for a Longhorns victory anyway so I might as well invest in them.
