This is Kansas State first road game and they suck balls on the road.  K-State has lost eight straight in front of opposing fans since defeating Texas A&M 44-30 on Oct. 11, 2008.  Yes on paper Kansas State looks better than kansas but kansas has shown they can stop the run at home they defeated GATECH 28-25.  Also Kansas is coming off an extra 5 days rest.  With that being sad.

Kansas 1.5+ First Half.  BIG.   Who knows kansas state might find their rhythm 2nd half but i got a feeling this is going to be a close game.

Oh yeah.  On the Jayhawks tonight +3.  Kansas state can stop anyone on the ground and love that Kansas is at home.  Kansas should be able to mix it up on offense and play solid enough on defense.  Kansas State does have a potent running attack, but I think Kansas can make them one dimensional and come out on top.  Gla

Oahuboy knows CFB imho. Took marshall, then played UCF at the half. Note: UCF defense is for real, wasnt sure watching them play troy as they inexplicably didnt test the middle of the UCF d, now I know why!  taking KU at home+ points KSU first real road game. 5-1 HD less than 8 pts. with REVENGE

    Kansas State @ Kansas +3.5:

    Kansas Offense vs K-State Defense:
Kansas is led by QB Jordan Webb, who has passed for 762 yards this season with a 6/3 TD to INT ratio.. along with him in the backfield, is James Sims, who is gaining 4.9 YPC on the ground.. Kansas would be wise to run the ball against the K-State defense, as they allow close to 250 yards per game on the ground.. They will establish the run, which we all know will lead to big plays through the air off of play action..

    K-State Offense vs Kansas Defense:
K-State on offense is pretty one sided.. they like to run the ball with their stud running back Daniel Thomas, who has run for 691 yards this year.. that's about all they can do.. the problem is, teams are starting to key in on that and stacking the box with 8-9 defenders, which shows up on the stat sheet, as Thomas has only rushed for under 80 yards in both of his last two games.. QB Carson Coffman has nearly identical stats to his counterpart on the other side, throwing for 730 yards and the same TD/INT ratio.. the Wildcats will also be with out their starting receiver Brodrick Smith.. I look for the Kansas defense to take away the run game and make Coffman win the game for them, much like UCF and Nebraska did..

    Special Teams:
This is the one area that is a problem for Kansas.. Kicker Jacob Bransetter is only 2-5 on the year, 0-3 from outside of 40 yards.. this may pose a problem when Kansas drives down the field, making them punt or go for it on 4th without a reliable kicker.. K-State on the other hand has a kicker that is 5-5 on FGs..

    Intangibles:
Kansas is 3-1 in the last 4 games played between the two both SU and ATS.. This is K-State's first road game as well, in what should be a charged atmosphere..

    Why Kansas will win/cover:
Offensively, Kansas should be able to run the ball and set up the pass with the run, taking advantage of the play action.. Defensively, Kansas should be able to shut down the run and make K-State pass, something that it just isn't that good at doing..

Why should Kansas be able to shut down the run? They have given up 200+ to GT, USM, and Baylor. Both defenses are terrible vs the run. K State looked bad last week vs nebraska which really inflated their rankings, but Nebaska looks like the best running team in the nation. Nebraska is averaging 7.74 ypc. GT, Kansas' best opponent is only averaging 5.77 ypc.

    Kansas has played :

GT ranked 3rd in rushing offense.

    USM 37th

    New Mexico State 87th

    Baylor 52nd

North dakota State 50th in d-1aa rushing.

    K State has played:

#2 nebraska ( which would easily be #1 without the bye)

    #17 UCLA

    #63 Iowa State

#32 UCF which will be ranked higher after this week

    Missouri State- 14th in d-1aa

I think you could argue that Kansas' rush defense is actually worse than K State, they have just played inferior opposition. Kansas is ranked 95th vs the run K state is 107. They are both bad. The problem here is Kansas doesn't run the ball nearly as well as K State.

K State is 26th 208.8 ypg and 4.86 ypc. kansas is 74th 141.8 ypg and 3.58 ypc. K State is the better passing team too. While they throw the ball less often they are more efficient than Kansas. K state ranks 44th in passing efficiency at 139.5. Kansas throws the ball more but ranks 74th in passing efficiency at 122.28. Again K state has played the better opposition too.

Saying all that I'm not playing a side. anything can happen in a rivalry game like this.IMO i like under 49.5. both teams will try to run the ball vs  their suspect run defenses.

I'm all up on Kansas tonight!  These cats can lose as many games in the later season and may not come out over .500 but these guys will do whatever it takes to write up a game plan to destroy their rival KSU.  Oh yea, they're at home, and like oahuyboy808 said, they're well rested.  You can sure bet that they'll put up a fight.

Take this dookie to the bank!

Nice write up above, also leave the bashers alone. Just giving them what they want.

For me, hard game to cap. I just think K-State has the better team and will win by a TD, Kansas offense and defense look horrid, and worse the K-State's. Kansas has one quaility win over Georgia Tech. K-State has beat Iowa St, UCLA and UCF. I am more impressed with these wins and both teams got thier asses handed to them last time out. Gill will turn Kansas around, but not yet. Hard to give points on the road in a rivalry game and some of you guys on Kansas are great cappers. But.............................

Very tight line in this contest, as well as for most Big 12 conference games. The key to beating hotly followed conferences is a long season grind, with better capping and info, putting you ahead at the end. Kansas State is the better team-but not by that much  4-6 points better than the number. I'm going against a lot of the better players here and taking:

    KANSAS STATE - 3

what do you guys make of the very late line movement yesterday?
Got all the way down to 4.5 on some books them flew up to 7 in a matter of hours.

only thing I can think of is they saw the rain coming on the radar.   It seemed marshal might be able to stay in it thowing the ball till it started pouring down rain.   the marshall run was no match for USF but they were dinking and dunking down the field ok.

gotta love the half coming at 6 minutes left in the 2nd.   was like we got a 6 minute preview into the halftime adjustments that were made before having to play second half bets.

Kansas state is coming off a ass kicking on tv , last couple of games seen bad ass defenses , Nebraska and Central Florida kansas defense is ranked in the bottom half of the ncaa... Kansas state has the advantage at QB and RB on the flip side kansas is at home , they had a off week to prepare. and this will I believe be kansas state first or maybe two second road game of the year , PLUS REVENGE IS ON KANSAS SIDE
