well said colonel jim.. happy holidays and happy new year..i was leaning tech at first but with players out for tech and the falcons getting there 2 six foot five recievers back ,,kevin fogler and zach kauth look for them to take 2 or 3 shots deep down field...unless game goes into overtime this might be the fastest game of the bowl season...plus air force will have a big following here with BARSDALE AIR FORCE BASE being only about 30 minutes from independance stadium in shreveport louisiana...that is where former president george bush flew to after leaving florida on 911...back to the game it is going to be in the 20;s so i look for a low scoring game ...AIR FORCE 15---12....GL.........
Happy Holidays my friend
Great to see you capping the bowls ul lafkid. Always look forward to your insight on the games. I've been getting beat up capping both the nfl & the early bowls. Hopefully the worm begins to turn.
Knowing you are on the Falcons gives me hope here.
GL and have a Happy New Year.

Look at Air Force's 4 losses - - Oklahoma, San Diego State, TCU, & Utah - all powerhouse teams, and with the exception of TCU, Air Force was in every single one of those games. Now, look at Georgia Tech, they got blown out by Clemson and Georgia, and lost to friggin' Kansas? And they're in a bowl at 6-6? These 2 teams are not even on the same playing field, even with Nesbitt Soda Pop playing - and now he's not playing? Vegas is giving you a late Christmas present, people - as my friend Vue would say:
AIR FORCE - 2.5 (EXTRA LARGE)
Very well said my friend.....I still like the bolts and now I really like the over. If you are backing GT, then you have to roll with the over!!! And by mature, I mean the kids have far more mental fortitude. If you don't see the difference in getting into an Academy as compared to a state school like GT.....then you yourself probably aren't to educated and have never been around a group of highly motivated and intelligent young men. When the going gets tough, the kids at Air Force will be more focused and feel as though they can over come. When the going gets tough for GT kids......they get routed by Kansas and they find a way to finish 6-6 when many had them in the top 20 preseason.

Everything you say is worthless in this post and after what you say I am confused as why you would still say GT?
I'm with you my GD brutha!!! By the way, I love the avatar......saw 10 shows myself before Jerry passed. One of the best live shows you could ever see. That is, if you like nice people who are kind, share and enjoy a group dynamic.

While I agree that AF is the play here, I think your statement that GT is just a "state school" is awful. The average SAT at GT is very high for even most private "elite" schools. The students at GT are some of the best and brightest engineers/science/business/premed/etc students in the nation. I would put up any 5 random Tech students against any 5 academy students, EASILY. In fact, I'd wager on the tech kids to outperform their academy counterparts.
That said, the discipline and intelligence on the football team is probably far higher at AF.
This is all a derail of the thread but I just had to speak up against someone who labels Tech as just another state school.
I'm on Air Force -2.5 large for many other reasons.

I am on Air Force as well for one unit. Support the troops!
Doing OK DANSTYK, although my local bookie is doing a whole lot better than me. I provided him a free vacation to Hawaii this year. How's it going amigo. Always great to see a long time friend capping the games. I'm clueless on who is winning this one but when I saw Navy lose I instantly told myself double up on Air Force. The Military teams will not be shut out. So if Air Force loses here you know what side I'm taking in the Army-SMU game.
Have a Happy New Year danstyk. Don't get too ringing in the NY.

Other than getting beat down by some passing based teams, Gtech held their own with some good teams. I think they can win the battle of the options. Gtechfor the small
Cmon man- are you serious?
GA Tech lost to ever good team they played except UNC. They lost to KANSAS and a 6-6 UGA team. They lost to Miami and Clemson, teams that are clearly mediocre. They got destroyed by NC State.
All other wins other than UNC came against cupcakes, Wake Forest, Duke, MTSU, SCSU (South Carolina State) and Virginia.
Do your research or don't post

Sports is all about discipline & execution. We all should know by now about both teams abilities & tendencies. I think the Air Force will get the job done.
Air Force -2.5 & over 56

You would think IF YOU LIVE BY THE SWORD......ya'll know the rest.
Both teams run the option so both should know how to defend the option. Each defenses give up 22 on an average, yet 56 is the total? I think it'll be a bit slow placed with that holiday food still in them and I would lock for to total to stay under the number.
AF/GEO TECH under 56.
gl to all

The problem with this game is that G Tech seems like the more dominant team and they are getting the points. They run a very similar offense, but Air Force plays against themselves as one of the best running games in the country every day!! And, they faced two other triple threats during the season, and won them both if I'm correct, that's off the top of my head. Air Force is better schooled, more intelligent person to person and used to over achieving in every endeavor of their lives. They are more mature and they have a better record. Don't forget, they hung with #1 Oklahoma early in the year losing by around 7! G Tech's best game of the year was the last game against Georgia. That's a big rivalry game and you never know what you get there........I remember last year a Houston team that was supposed to pass it all over AF last year and poor little AF wouldn't be able to do anything about it. I'll take AF here and lay the narrow point spread.
Irish great take on this one, and as usual I agree. I see the same thing based on the stats & schedule. In addition Techs QB's have a below 50% completion percentage, so if they have to start throwing they make struggle. Tech may have a slight edge in total pysical makeup but that smarts aspect is not to be under estimated. AF have been a Jeckel & Hyde for me when betting. Tech not having a good year and only shows up every few weeks. AIR FORCE -2.5
Good Luck & Happy Holidays!

If I'm not mistaken I think GT has some players that will be out for the first half of this game due to being late to a meeting so definitely not playing the first half of this one but those key defensive players should be real fresh in the second half of this game.
This is basically the triple option bowl. Both teams should be able to defend the triple option so it should not be a factor in this game. As always in games involving military teams I tend to look at the size difference. Military teams still need to stay within military standards as far as weight so of course the other team is normally bigger. GT's leading rusher Anthony Allen is a big boy and will probably need several Air Force defenders to bring him down. I like the way Allen keeps his feet moving while being tackled to get those extra yards.
Still tough game to cap but leaning on GT on the final.

EVERYONE on covers is on Air Force... LOL. Paul Johnson and GTECH cover, regardless if Nesbit plays.
Air Force can not stop the run. Someone stated how hard it is to get into the airforce and when the going gets tough they are mature blah blah blah. this is football, not a test.
GTECH has the speed and ATHLETES.
gtech alltheway.
