Nine of the 10 BCS champions to date fielded a top 10 scoring defense. Florida's ranks fourth (12.8 points per game). Oklahoma's ranks 58th (24.5 ppg).
Oklahoma allowed just 11 sacks this season. Florida ranked No. 30 in the nation in sacks with 32. So a team that rarely allows rushers to reach the quarterback has to block a team that is only slightly above average at rushing the quarterback. Bradford isn't going to get touched.
Oklahoma led the nation in turnover margin at plus-23 -- Florida was second -- and defensive coordinator  is a wiz at designing schemes that force opposing teams to make mistakes. Remember, Ole Miss did not have an elite defense, but Florida put the ball on the ground five times in that game, and the Rebels recovered three of those fumbles. That's why Florida lost.
KEY:*Fla. Run/Reciever P. Harvin is playing. He averaged 103 all-purpose yards per game this season, but it's not just his productivity that gives the Gators a boost; it's the way Florida uses him. By constantly shifting Harvin in and out of the backfield, by handing it off to him, throwing it to him, shoveling it to him and running reverses with him -- defenses have to account for him on every play. That provides all the more opportunities for Tebow, Demps, Rainey, et al., to find mismatches amongst the remaining defenders.
Seeing this, Oklahomas no huddle offense, I see scoring earlier than late guys.
The offensives has drawn up schemes and plays than should result in scores early.
Oaklahoma line to give time.  Harvin adds more plays for Florida.
Over 1st half to me is looking better right now.

If Tim Tebow has his way, his Florida Gators will place Oklahoma's Sam Bradford on the predictable list of Heisman Trophy winners who stumbled through a losing effort in the national title game.

Six of the last eight Heisman winners have played in the Bowl Championship Series title game, yet only USC's Matt Leinart came out a winner in 2004.

Since 1950, only five players have won a Heisman and a national title in the same season

Florida and The SEC play well in Championship games.
Oklahoma has lost their last 2 trys
Normally these stronger divisions prevail in these games.
SEC 4-0
while others 12 /10/ BEast/ACC  have losing records
pac 10 is 1-1 even
but SEC is 4-0!
I think money is going in right direction, early Fla backers got in good i think.

Long time reader. 1st time... well 2nd time poster. I am a GEORGIA DAWG and I hate Florida. That said, How can people say that Okla's offence is too much for FL? Half the QB's in that conference threw for around 3,000 yards or more b/c there is NO defence!!! We have all seen what happens when any team from the big 12 plays a decent defence!
OK will be lucky to put 24 pts on the board. The question is... will the high scoring FL team show up tonight? I think they will. At least I hope/pray they do!
FLORIDA should win by 10-14pts OR MORE!!!

I will not be fooled by another big12 pretender.  OK is prone to losing the big game.  Tebow is a cool customer, and will carry the gators to victory once again.    OK will have a chance if they can run the ball and get Gresham involved early and often.

i've actually won alot of money on OK this year.. and i plan on doing it tonight.. i plan on betting florida and winning alot of money on a big OK loss...

I remember back in 2003 when Bob Stoops was Bob "Big Game" Stoops and everyone thought he was the best big game coach in the country.

Or how about 2006 when Pete Carroll was at the head of an unbeatable dynasty... then Texas and Vince Young happened.

I have a feeling the Sooners are going to show up tonight.

In my opinion, the most important aspect of this game is the past history of the coaches in these big games. It is no secret that Bob Stoops has trouble in these game. I believe he has a 4-5 record in bowl games, which includes a 2-4 record in BCS games (lost last 4). The losses include a 55-19 beating by USC and one of the biggest upsets in all time when Boise St. beat them. On the other hand, Urban Meyer, who is now considered by most around NCAA football, as being the best coach in the country when it comes to putting together a game plan, is 5-1 all time in bowl games, including 2-0 in BCS games. One of which came with Utah. I don't see any reson to doubt the fact that Urban Meyer will have a few tricks up his sleeve for this one. Besides the Big 12 has had a dismal showing in these bowl games. Being a Florida St. fan, it pains me to say it but I don't see Oklahoma winning or covering. If you refuse to root for Florida, trust me I understand, take the under...Strong play on the under!

I like the under too.
The 2 times Okla has seen a team with a decent defence (I use that term loosly) they only scored 35 pts!
That was against TCU and Texas!
No way they hit that tonight!
Florida, by 10 or more!

Somewhat being the operative word in that sentence... in other words, the Ohio State - Michigan game was NOT a big game this year.  Cuz little blue suuuuuuuuucked.

 Funny thing is I actually won money betting on OSU this year and they did beat Michigan again..I hear its no longer a rivalry game. In a rivalry game both teams are suppose come and play. Did you enjoy the TOILET BOWL that BIG BROWN pile of horse shit Michgian played in...

Lay the points ASAP...this line is exploding as all the sharp money pours in on UF. It will only go up.  Floridas defense holds OU under 24 points here and UF puts up somewhere around 35. 

 

This is coming from a diehard FSU fan...I want OU to upset but I just dotn see it happening.  BTW...did anyone notice that Ole Miss is actually a VERY good team?  They are abnormally good this year and won big in their bowl game and now that slight loss by UF doesnt look nearly as bad as it did early in the season. (florida's only loss) 

FLORIDA IS ON ANOTHER LEVEL.  Better athletes all across the board.  This UF team is NOTICIBLY better than the 06 champs that owned OSU.....(oh yea TEBOW was on that team too)

This game will prove nothing...not until we have a playoff in college football. I don't care who wins this game there will still be questions about who is number one. If Florida does win but not by more than 10 then is Texas just as good as them? I'm not sure and I don't really care...but I will say this... Most of the public is always betting the chalk. This is a huge game with a lot of money pouring in that you normally never see in a college game. 
 
I look back to the Super Bowl...big money on New England and smart money on the Giants and the ML. Everyone and their brother was on the Patriots. Monday, everyone and their brother on Texas in a blow out, and last week everyone on Alabama.
 
Listen folks, you can show me all the stats you want about Heisman winners, the SEC, the Big 12, and whatever else you want to dig up. Fact is, they play the game for a reason. And remember the line is designed to get equal money on both sides it doesn't tell you who the better team is....Vegas can care less.

This is wrong. The sharp money isn't moving the line. The public is moving the line. That started shortly after the Texas game when another Big 12 team didn't look great.
