no in this case, it's not important at all.  The important thing is getting the next best team with Ohio State into the NC game....that's Georgia.  hands down.

And the same thing happened last year - Florida had an unimpressive victory over Arkansas, but still jumped Michigan.

It'll probably be the same thing with Georgia and LSU.

Wow must be nice to have such influence over who goes to national championship game. No debate necessary in my book. Who lost last is that not the basis that the polls are used for, LSU has lost twice since UGA lost their last game, how does this say they are better,

The same problem I had with Michigan/Florida and now I have with UGA/LSU.

If LSU is the better team, why aren't they ranked ahead of UGA in the first place?

Did beating UT unconvincingly all of a sudden make them the better team?

LSU is only going to be punished for a week for losing to Arkansas?

Why not Kansas? Or Oklahoma?

LSU lost when they had to win.  They shouldn't be rewarded with a BCS championship bid.  Games later in the season ARE more important than those early on.

ok this is getting ridiculous. The ranking prior to this week are useless, just like they were last year when Michigan was #2 then got jumped. The only reason Georgia was ranked higher in that poll was because it has been the longest time since they lost. I hate LSU with a bloddy passion, but what in the hell is the point of having a confereence if the team that can't even win their own division gets to play for the National Championship? What sense does that make? Tennessee was in the SEC title gme because they absolutely destroyed Georgia. Had UT not called off the dogs that would have been a 50-7 game. Georgia didn't show up. They lost at home to a SC team that was exposed as a fraud.

You say that Georgia is "hands down" the second best team in the country? How in the hell do you know that? Are you Nostradamus? How do you know USC wouldn't beat the crap out of them? The fact is that LSU won the conference by beating the team that Georgia was embarrassed by. They have the same record. One is the champ, one is the chump(to put it bluntly..I don't think Georgia are a bunch of chumps). You've got fact on one side, wishcasting and creative opinion on the other. You can't pretend their shit performances didn't happen, they did, and having a team possibly win a national championship that couldn't even compete with Tennessee would be an utter joke.

First of all, if the regular season means anything at all, they you must win your conference in order to play for the title.  WVU is out after yesterday.  VT is out because LSU killed them.  Therefore, if OSU is a foregone conclusion, it comes down to LSU, OU, or USC.  To me, USC is the best team, but you could make legit arguments for all 3 teams.  I would like to see USC vs OSU so I could pound USC at anything less than -7.  Good chance of a split title this year.

Personally, I think Hawaii deserves a shot.  It's a screwed up system, and they are the only undefeated team.  Their schedule isn't their fault as nobody wants to play them.  Michigan State paid them $250000 to cancel their game this year.  If everybody has 2 losses, why not give them a shot.  I would love to see Ohio State try to match up with their receivers.  Imagine the ML on Hawaii in that one?

First of all this is NOTHING like last year.. Michigan got jumped because they lost the last game of their season and florida went on to win the SEC... Geo won the last 7 games of their season and LSU lost a week ago to a .500 team in conference..

You call SC a fraud but say nothing about Kentucky going below .500 in conference.. and Ark having one good player on the whole team.. ok maybe two.. but no defense at all!!..

Like I said.. LSU winning the conf. is a formality.. They lost to shittier teams and got rewarded for that.. If they lost to a good team like Tenn of Georgia they wouldnt have been in the conf. champ game.. If you add up the power rankings of Tennesee and SC against Kentucky and Arkansas.. Tennesee and SC dominates.. not to mention the fact that Geo hasnt lost in 2 months and are playing better than ever.. While LSU Lost a week ago.. squeeked by this week on a late Interception for a TD... and had more lucky wins than anyone in the nation.. Florida,Auburn and even Alabama..

The fact that you look at one game against Tenn 2 months ago and and say that is why they cant be in is a "complete and utter joke".. To me losing to a good team 2 months ago is worse than a crappy team last week..
