Why Georgia HAS to be in over LSU and anyone who says otherwise is an idiot...

Georgia was ranked 4th in the country before this week and LSU was 7nth.. there was a reason for that.. pulling out a squeeker vs Tenn should is hardly enough to make you leap 3 teams...
 
Anyone who says LSU should be in because they were the conference champion IS AN IDIOT!.. The only reason why the championship game was Tenn vs LSU was b/c of a mere formality...
LSU had two losses
Geo had two losses..
 
one of georgia's losses just happened to be against Tennesee.. the other finalist.. if anything Geo should be rewarded for having the much harder loss..
 
Georgias two losses... @ Tenn (not on nuetral field like LSU) Tennesee record was 9-3 and 6-2 in conference!
their other loss was S. Car the second week in sept.. S car 6-6 and 3-5 in conf.

@kentucky who Geo beat two weeks ago by 11 Kent 7-5 and only 3-5 in conference!!!
 
The other was HOME vs Arkansas 8-4 4-4 in conf!! LAST WEEK!
both of LSU losses were two teams .500 or below in conference..
If LSU had lost to a good team like Tenn instead of pieces of crap like Kent and S. car.. then Geo would have been in the conference champ game and not them!
 
So after reading all that.. explain to me how LSU can jump 6 spots over 3 teams and be in the NC game just b/c they barely beat LSU on a nuetral field this week?

Here is another attempt to add rationality to an irrational structure.

LSU will pass Georgia.  It has nothing to do with debates about results.
 
It has to do with the voters who dont even watch the games, who dont understand football, and just follow the media.  When sportscenter says LSU is in the game, which they already did, they are in the game.
 
Its a self fulfilling prophecy based on a tremendously misguided system.

HAHA.. arite.. now i see what your getting at.. i agree with you.. im just trying to show the flaws which are many.. I totally agree with you about how what sportscenter says goes.. the only reason im holding back is because its the same network that reported "Les Miles to Michigan"

lsu would probably be undefeated without all the injuries they've had this year, and despite that they lost twice and in 6 combined OT's no less.

ny I'm sorry but your logic doesn't add up. Fact is, Georgia got rocked by a Tennessee team that LSU beat, and got totally outplayed on their home field by a mediocre, at best, South Carolina team. There is no way they can go in against a team that lost in a combined 6 OT's and won the SEC. You can try to make it make sense all you want, but it's ridiculous.
 
LSU lost to two teams with legitimate Heisman candidates elevating their play tremendously in triple overtime games. Georgia got totally outplayed TWICE and couldn't even bother to give Tennessee a game. They had their shot, and they're not worthy. Sorry.

screw both of these teams, give Oklahoma a shot, move them up from #9 to 2, I feel they are the best all around team of the 2 loss teams.

For the record, I think you have to take a hard look at Oklahoma. They won their conference, and beat and dominated the #1 team in the country. They have two tight road losses, one in which their starting QB got knocked out in the first drive.
 
To me, if you want to be in the National Championship and have two losses, you have to have at least been competitive in all of your games. That rules out Georgia and Virginia Tech.

What about the fact that LSU lucked out against a mediocre Florida team at home, when Georgia handled them convincingly on a neutral field?  Or how about the fact that LSU has lost twice since Georgia's last loss, wouldn't that signify that LSU is a weaker team than Georgia right now, and aren't the voters voting right now?

I'm with Van on this one, I think both OSU and LSU are exremely over rated and would love to put money against both and after this shitstorm of a day I will not be able to now.

And why does ESPN have such a hard on for LSU today?  They started this morning with Herbie blowing his load about Miles leaving and ended the day saying LSU should leap over 5 teams after an unimpressive 7 point win over Tennessee, WTF?

I'm sorry Ebaylor but I don't think that's true. The key is that Georgia LOST to Tennessee, and lost badly. The style points are secondary to the actual fact that they lost. That's the key. Style points don't matter if both teams beat another team. A win is a win. But when one team beats a top team, and another team gets destroyed by them, I think that's a valid point.

I'm not a fan of LSU at all, I just think the logic that Georgia should go to the National Championship is ridiculous. You can't get totally outplayed at home against a subpar SC team and also get totally outplayed on the road against a good Tenn team and expect to play for the title over someone who lost their two games in a combined 6 OT's. I don't like LSU and their coach is a moron, but arguing for Georgia is laughable.

the sec is so close in competiton that it fucks itself. ps im not an sec homer. it just proves from this year. georgia should be in the ncg but they should because they couldnt even win their own conference......my push is hawaii and the only reason is cuz they are undefeated, and osu because theres really no reason why they shouldnt be in, i know the back in, but thats how it works

It's all a fucking joke this year, anyway.  Hey, why can't it work on the last week of the season just like it works every other week? 

#1 and #2 lose to teams that are not in the top 10, so #3 and #4 move up into their spots.

In this crazy-ass season, where everybody has lost to at least 2 somebody's (at least 1 of which was not a good team)... that seems about as logical a thing to do as everything else.

I am not a dawg fan BUT if LSU gets in, that's the biggest travesty.  I don't care who won a conference championship.  If the rankings show one team as 4 and one as 7, you can't fuck the fourth ranked team just becuase the other SQUEEKED one out yesterday.
 
It's the dawgs or the system is fucked up.  Georgia is the best team in the SEC and anyone who says they are not obviously knows little about the coneference.
