ya how they gonna stop Newton? he will bitch slap anyone on bama's defense. I agree Auburn's d isnt good but all they need is 3 stops in this game and bama cant win. People make it like bama is a great team, they are not. They graduated any and every good player on defense from last years natl title team and the offense has under achieved. Newton's issues are a distraction no doubt but how big will the Saban to the NFL rumors this week be.    

I can use that exact argument as to why Bama will win the game..

I have been looking so forward to this line. Vegas knows Bama is going to win. They just lay the 4 knowing that amateurs will take Auburn.

I've never said Newton would get "suspended."  That being said, I do think it is inevitable that he will be ruled ineligible for the 2010 season at some point in time.  When that will be, I have no idea.

No I do not think Saban will ever make the move to pro football again.  I think Alabama will be his last job.

This will be Auburn's first real true road test this season, but I'm not as confident about Bama's chances as some.  Bama is certainly cabable of winning, but I think they'll have to hold Auburn under 30 points to get it done.  Can they do it?  I think they can.  Will they?  I dunno.

 

Why get involved in this game, too many questions on both teams. If I was gonna bet two grand, i'll put it on BOISE OR Central Florida. Bothe of these games will be BLOWOUTS!!!!!!!!!!

yea, but basically you are not getting my point... doesn't it make you suspicious that the books are inviting you to take Auburn (+3)?  i mean... you are a guy that wanted to take Alabama, and they have effectively scared you off...

This game is not the play of the year lol. Way too many factors in this game. Bama's secondary will have a tough time with Cam Newton and whether or not Bama can win will depend on if Mcelroy can expose Auburn's safety by slinging the ball to his WR's ( Mcelroy has been throwing the ball better recently ).

Agree that the books appear to be begging you to take Auburn, but I see what the guys saying.  Bama might have value if the line were a pickem, but at -4 I just don't see much value here.  At best, they are even with Auburn this year and home field is worth only 3.8 points, less  so if the opposing team is a running team historically (which Auburn is)

sure!  first off, i have not put in any bets for this week, will be trying to keep a small card, and there is no guarantee i will bet this... but it is definitely high on the list...


there are really a lot of angles, that go pretty deep for me on this game, including the GOY angle... God this is hard to explain... typed it up 4 times already...

ok, think of it like this... if you were a sharp mother fucker, at the start of the year, you took Auburn (+10) (or whatever) in this matchup... now, i may like Alabama (-3) this week... but i sure as hell do not like Alabama (-10) this week... i mean, i think it could happen, but i wouldn't touch it with money!  the fact is, the guy who took Auburn (and it may have been closer to 14) made a great fucking bet, just like a lot of other GOY lines that move more than a TD by the time the game kicks off...

here's my point!  the people who get those GOY lines right (in terms of the line shift), also very very frequently win those bets... i know this because i have done this alot in the past... not sure why i didn't this year, other than the fact i had a lot of shit going on prior to football season... anyway, based on past experience, the GOY line is amazingly shrewd, in the sense that Alabama (-10) generally turns out to be a better line than Alabama (-3)... to put it simply: middle it!  middle it!  middle it!

not saying it is a lock, but i have made a lot of GOY bets in the past, where the line moves by a large amount... and i would usually shoot for the middle... and i almost always hit it, easily!

this is NOT the only angle for me in this game... and i rarely even consider that sort of thing... but this just looks like one of those games to me...

Bama is not having the year everyone (especially them) expected... but they are still a very talented and well coached team, with a strong defense and a great defensive scheme, that hasn't lost at home in how many years?

Bama has a lot of pride, and they can not be happy about all this attention Auburn has gotten this year...

so take all of this information, and then consider the point that i already mentioned... the books have chosen to take their position on Alabama... i don't care who you think will cover, or who does cover... one thing i do not consider debatable is the fact that the books are shading Bama...

you have the #1 team in the country, playing their arch rival, a disappointing 2 loss Bama team... knowing how in love people are with Auburn right now, and explosive offensive teams in general... the books have chosen to post Bama (-3) as their opening position...

add to all of this the fact that Bama has the FAR SUPERIOR defense in this game, and a balanced offense, and the fact that they will be supremely motivated... and i say to you...

what's your reasoning for taking Auburn?  because outside of 1 angle... the Cam Newton athletic scrambling QB angle... i literally do not see a single angle that would suggest that is a good play...

if that is what you are playing...

oh yea... then there is the public dog angle, which i can pretty much assure you Auburn will be this week...
