I could see Illinois sleep-walking through their game at Indiana. But at some point they're just much better than the Hoosiers. I might look at a first half play there. Could definitely see a 14-7 type game at the break.

Could Clemson win in a blowout? Maybe. Could they sleepwalk to a small victory? Maybe. The points made hear are that maybe, just maybe, there is a good spot to fade Clemson here as they are about as high as theyve been since in like 20 years. Just a thught.

Also, whats with the "nothing to play for" comments? Thats the worst horseshit statement exuse/reason/anything to bet/fade a team...Yeah, these kids dont care and are jsut gonna lay down. Yeah right. Everyone wants to be a spoiler. Everyone wants to win. In fact, IMO, one of the most dangerous teams to play are one with nothing on the line...

Ask Boston Redsox backers and fans the last GAME of the season about this. What did Balti have to gain? They had "nothing to play for"...Uh huh, how's that end up.

    Ok, said my 0.02

I forgot to add detail.  Sorry at work.

    Clemson D

On Saturday night, the Tigers held Virginia Tech to 258 yards of offense, including only 133 rushing. The Hokies came into the game averaging 211.8 yards on the ground, which ranked 30th nationally.

Both of BC's running backs (Harris and Williams) are banged up.  Check it.

BC has no passing game beyond 8 yards.  Chase Rettig's arm is weak. Clemson's best defenders are their secondary.

    Boston College Offense

BC scored 3 points against Central Florida

BC scored 19 against Duke at home

BC does not have the usual domenating offensive lineman this year.

    Their offense is field goals.

    Special Teams

I watched UMASS (Div 1A last year) run one Kickoff back for 90+ yards .....the second one was for 50+.

    Summary

I despise -20.5 with any football team --sure this is a let down spot for Clemson.  Clemson just jumped to the top 10 in CFB.  They have not been here.  They are not used to winning with ease and resting.  I am out.....save your money --spend it on other teams or Clemson.  BC is not worth one cent this year.

I bet on Kentucky, Oregon State, and Florida Atlantic last week. I had people tell me the same thing about all three. They all covered.

The BC line should be - 27/28 especially at Clemson.

    Need more proof.

Quotes from Clemson coaching staff this week:

Coach Dabo Swinney cautions of everyone to slow down, parades are for January not October.

"We go lay an egg this week and people forget about this real quick," he said.

Willard said he got plenty of congratulations from fellow students in his Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management course Monday morning.

Linebacker Corico Hawkins was grateful for the good feelings on campus - about 1,000 people greeted the Tigers when they arrived back at Death Valley at around 2:30 a.m. Sunday - but thinks Clemson has plenty to prove the rest of the season.

"We're still a 6-7 football team" from 2010, Hawkins said.

"The same way we're 5-0 now, we could be 5-5 five weeks from now," he continued. "We've just got to stay grounded."

There is much better spots than backing BC -- that is all I am saying.

Every single team brings up the let-down. Doesnt mean they avoid it. Thats not even my argument. My argument is that they are overvalued. I know, I bet on them when they werent. Ive seen the uptick.

Its maddeningly frustrating. I hear the same shit every week. These teams are horrible etc. There was even a poster a week or two ago quoting Lem Banker saying 'you shouldnt ask bad teams to win for you' and that its a way to lose money.

That week University of Louisiana at Lafayette cashed a ML worth 850 for me. They won outright as 17 point dogs. That team is bad.

But as the evidence mounts, more and more come out of the woodworks to offer the same argument.

I am betting bad teams here, people. I know the other squads are better. I know if you look at stats my teams wont do much. I couldnt give a fuck. I am trying to think about things that the entire free world doesnt know. I dont care about an injury, its factored into the line. I want to be ahead of the curve, not behind it.

I already have posted that I have grabbed certain plays - BC @21, EMU @21, and BG @10. But, I will have a thread posted in a day or so. I like to talk things out first.

That's a great summary of how I try to play. 'Cept I haven't been doing it as long and am not nearly as practiced. Probably explains why you always have my favorite thread of the week though.

Last week was the turning point. If someone lost last week, chances are they wont win again until the last week of November when squares get that one week as bait before bowl season. Keep that in mind.

VT was in a great spot and just didnt show up. Clemson keep proving doubters wrong.

Washington played one of the best games you will see all year.

    About this week...

Cal should cover that line. People are forgetting that Oregon cant just name their score. Oregon cant stop Cal enough to cover 17, let alone 24.

Was hoping for 10 in the RRS. You cant keep an OU backer away from the window for anything, though, so I still may see it. That game is closer than people expect.

BC is a must play at anything over 20. Clemson cant keep this level of play up. You can get rich fading a team that won SU on the road as a dog when they come home to be favored the next week. This game stays way under the total. Clemson is on upset alert next week regardless.

Iowa is a huge suckers line.

Going back to the well and selling Army high again. Miami O should get that elusive W.

Bang Bowling Green. Fading WMU off a SU win on the road over a BCS conference while dogged. This game gets decided in the 4th.

ASU going to have a rough time up in Utah.

The EMU line is a joke. I grabbed it at 21 earlier. Its a FG too much. If you bet on Toledo this week, get yourself a lifesaver. That boat has sailed. Dont get back on that bandwagon. You are a week late.

Tenny stops the run and throws all over UGA.

Huge, huge suckers line on Air Force. Wow.

Going to be nice to see Oregon State win a game.

Thinking Southern Miss is the right side.

Keep the freaking points with Idaho - they get the win they shouldve against Fresno.

I have no idea how A&M plays again this week. All over TT. What a set of heartbreaking losses back to back.

    WAZZU, TCU both losers.

    You have thoughts? Drop em....

Love Bowling Green +10. West Michigan coming off a straight up win as a road dog and now favored by 2 scores at home? Buy low, sell high.

BC and EMU are the right side according to the situation but their isn't much you can do about the talent discrepancy and I simply can't back a team that can't score. Ive seen both these teams play twice and they have two of the worst offenses in America. I think this game comes down to the end like Kentucky-LSU last week. Hey they covered too and Oregon St did too like I predicted. I just dont have the balls to play pure crap teams like these.

Lean to Tenn and TX as well. Already grabbed LSU at -7 last week in a future bet and VT at -6. Good Luck this week.

Geez, if my Beavs don't get the win this week...

And can I just vent about the GT debacle last week? I've done this crap for many many years-and it never ceases to amaze me how you CANNOT cash your ticket until 0:00

    Right side, wrong result-shit happens.

I've been trying to think more outside the box as you say. I've been trying not to make a play just based on last week's result where  you end up paying a premium.

But the question is not whether Clemson is riding high and a popular choice, the question is, is 21 enough to truly over-value them?

The logic that BC's weakness is already factored into the line may be true, but one could also argue that Clemson's possible letdown and look-ahead or sleep-walking may also already be factored into the line.

Sure, you might think all the little $25 and $50 bets placed on Clemson by the adoring Public have resulted in a line of -21 instead of say -17, but isn't there enough big sharp money on BC to have resulted in a line of -21 instead of -24?!

If SharpShooter beleives the line should have been 27, then he sees value in Clemson, figuring the line is factoring in a letdown or that folks don't know how bad BC really is. I think folks still think positively of BC as a good program. They are bad and their coaches are dinosaurs. Their D is not bad though, but they haven't seen anything like Clemson.

Then again, if a trend like you mention about fading a home favorite after a SU win as a road dog is a high %, then you play it every time and never mind all the other noise.

I've seen that BC offense and I just don't see them scoring more than 10. Can Clemson sleep-walk to 31 at home against a decent BC defense? Without help from their offense, the BC defense may be gasping for air by the 4th quarter.

If this were in BC, I could see Clemson letting down. But not at home.

    Under 21 and I'd play Clemson and I see a 20.5 now.

Why are we backing Utah this week again?

Jordan Wynn is out, I don't see them running the ball that
    successfully against ASU.

I really like ASU in this spot and was wondering what Im missing?

Welcome to the PAC-12 week x3 for the UTES.. They will eventually learn that New Mexico and UNLV are no longer in the mix.

You can't be on ASU to cover the spread on the road. They are way too undisciplined. They make way too many mistakes. They are poorly coached.
