I hope you're right, but I'll believe it when I see it. Stoops and his coordinators inability to get the job done has really cost us in a big way over the years. Venables has been a joke from the start, he couldn't coach defense to save his life, and offensively we're always too predictable. At least now we might have better offensive playcalling from Heupel, but we never live up to the hype on defense because we're poorly coached. No matter how great our talent is, we still give up way too much yardage and way too many points, something that we didn't do when Mike Stoops was here. And it's not the players fault because they're just doing what they're told and they're playing the way they were taught. Venables is just not a good D coordinator. There's a reason why he hasn't gotten a head coaching job and probably won't for a long time. Basically, we've got the players as usual, but we don't have the killer instinct coaching that it takes to win it all. We'll go 12-2, which is pretty damn good by most programs standards, but for us it absolutely SUCKS. I guarantee we'll lose two games this year because of bad coaching. Anybody wanna take that bet?
