I don&#x27;t think there are many who think Washington will win. I only think they will make a good game out of it. This game is hard to gauge because the SEC lacks good QB play. The USC teams they played were vastly different. No OL and lack of conditioning to the complete opposite at Washington. Huskies didn&#x27;t need to run until they played Colorado which kept Browning from breaking some TD record. Alabama has a big talent edge. They don&#x27;t run out of gas. Kiffin is headed to FAU. Plenty to think about in this game.

I&#x27;m a Bama fan and this game is a no play for me. If I had to pick a side I would lean to the huskies plus 17. My only concern would be a game like last years michigan state game that ended 38-0. Petersen however,  is one of the best big game coaches to date but then again Saban is probably the best

Washington has the best offensive scheme to have any chance against this Tide defense. No one in CFB can line up against them and run it at them, and anyone that hopes to have any success throwing must get rid of the ball in about 6 nano seconds. Only Washington has the offense to implement the quick, short passing game that has a chance to move the ball down the field on Bama. Add in the exotic sets and motions that Peterson employs and there is a chance for them to have enough success to keep it close. This will be the closest game Bama faces regardless of who wins the other semi-final.

I am not going to predict an upset, but do think Washington and 16-17 points is the best side of the play. I also wouldn't rule out a Huskie upset, but would put it at no better than 20%. The only reason I think Washington has a chance is because the Alabama offense is just not dominant this year, don't have the bruising, power backs and Hurts is not accurate on deep throws. Offense has benefited by the short field position situations and turnovers the defense gives them. Also, the place kicker is just average.

My thread so will take a moment to Solute one of the best SEC cappers I have ever met. Big ED was one of the best for a few years and helped me and others make some strong plays. Some bookies in the southern part of the US would not take his bets for awhile. That all changed were they begged for his plays.

Sorry to hear the news WT, and you are correct, Drugs and Gambling don&#x27;t mix (obviously not good separately either)!!!  My childhood buddy was 50 last year when he took his own life because of gambling debt.  He left behind a beautiful wife and 2-kids, brutal.

The stats above are nice.But Washington&#x27;s schedule is total trash compared to Bama&#x27;s.First 4 gamesIdahoPortland StateArizonaAnd open the season with Rutgers at home....as 26 point favorites!After that you are not even mildly impressed with their schedule until the last 3 of 4 games. I know it&#x27;s not their fault in a way but the out of conference schedule may be the worst in the history of a BCS challenger for the championship.Give me a fuc**ing break! Can&#x27;t gauge them properly with those statsgiven that.

I couldn&#x27;t disagree more.  Bama of recent Saban history has only struggled vs teams that have both a mobile QB and can spread the field.  Browning is not mobile enough to qualify.  Further he requires a long wind up on a deeper passes and he struggles when under pressure (see in particular the 1H and game vs Arizona State....the big pass plays came after struggling with the ASU blitzes and throwing 2 INTs in just over 1 quarter and importantly they were to the credit of the WR ability to take short passes and make people miss).  Colorado couldn&#x27;t pressure him quite as much but they have a very legit secondary and had it not been for Colorado QB throwing INTS all day that game would have been a much closer grinder.Washington is not going to be able to run and they are not going to be able to throw deep routes that require 4 to 5 seconds of pocket time and Browning is not going to be able to scramble to make that time up. And the Bama defense is not going to let a WR catch a 1 yard out and make it into a 30 yard gain.  Wash best hope is to create turnovers, particularly INTs with their talented secondary.  But they are going to have to stop the run and be prepared to be on the field a lot.  Stopping the run in the Pac 12 is one thing, in the SEC something else.  Don&#x27;t like laying 17 or even 14 but I don&#x27;t like the way Washington matches up here.

Washington - Petersen and staff are still in the beginning stages of putting together their game plan for the fourth ranked Huskies matchup with Alabama on December 31 in Atlanta. Washington's coaches spent time last week recruiting, making up for time lost by the Huskies while playing in the Pac-12 championship game. And with final exams going on, the Huskies have limited their practices, only holding a few in Seattle prior to the team departing for Atlanta on Christmas Day. Without players around much, it's allowed Petersen time to analyze Alabama.

Petersen. "You know, Alabama is probably the best college team I have ever seen. Top to bottom, there's no weaknesses out there. They're coached well, and the thing that I'm so impressed with as anything in that program is how they recruit. They get great talent, and then he (Saban) does a great job with the culture of their program, playing hard and all those things. There are no weaknesses. But that's OK. It will challenge us to be at our best and see what we look like when we're at our best and where we are in our evolution of playing against the best."

Like the writeup but stats meen nothing to me in this matchup. Washington played an absolute joke of a schedule,  non conf games vs Rutgers, Idaho and portland st. Then once they got into pac 12 play zona took them to ot, utah played them to the wire, and they looked outmatched getting beat easliy by USC. Love coach pete  ut they are in trouble here. Bama by 20&#x2B;

Alabama - The Tide practiced for the first time today getting ready for their game against Washington. The team will practice in Tuscaloosa for the next six days and then break for the holidays on December 22. The team will reconvene in Atlanta on December 26 for the final stretch leading up to the big game.

Saban's done this before so got to think the Tide will be on schedule and prepared.
