Gambling or not, you are up 24 points with seconds left and you don't kneel the ball and run it in the end zone instead? Really horrible sportsmanship. Someone on Iowa must have had -28 on their team.
Terrible sportsmanship by Iowa
@Cooler999
Yeah, but that rarely happens. 9 times out of 10 teams are kneeing there. You don't rub it into the other teams face. Classless. Regardless of which side I bet on I feel the same way.

I agree, it is poor sportsmanship. Back in the day, before the playoff, margin of victory was part of the BCS criteria and coaches had a reason to run up the score. College football is unique as when the game is in hand you get the underclassmen and walk ons some reps

Every team/coach has done it on occasion. Usually they say we play to the whistle, if you don't want me to score then stop me. Saban, Meyer, Brown, Carroll, etc... I've seen em all do it

Penn St did it against West Virginia week 1
some coaches know the number and want to cover the number
some coaches arent happy they are losing plays per game with the new rules and keep the offense going and get as many reps as possible. Lord knows Iowa's often pitiful offense needs all the practice they can get

This is why ppg shouldn't be in a coaches contract. I can see a scenario where the game is in hand but the starters are still in and someone gets hurt because the OC needs an average of 25 ppg.
