Looking forward to that game! Cal should be much improved, particularly on offense where they've added a lot of talent at all offensive skill position (RB, WR, and TE). Last year JKS aired it out a lot and the run game was non-existent. I've read that Cal's staff has said the run game should be much much better.
There are a lot of question marks also though as the HC, OC, and DC are all in these roles for their very first time so I wouldn't be surprised if it takes a little time to get things together.
Also, what concerns me is the OL and defense. The OL doesn't have a lot of top tier talent so I think this unit will be very average. The defense is completely new but there is some good talent at each level. Not a lot of depth though. I think this unit will also be very average.
What are your thoughts on Syracuse? I know nothing about them so have no idea what to expect. I see the line on ESPN is Cal -1.5 so it seems the game will be close to a toss up.

Thanks for the info. Cuse has a lot of new faces. They will go as Angelli the QB goes and stays healthy. He gets hurt they will not win another game. RB is a toss up. Wide receivers a lot of new faces. Defense has solid line backers. Dline should be better than last year. D back a lot of young talent. Could go either way.
I would have projected early line California -4 to -6 and would lean Cal. Surprised it is that low.
