This is the same kind of talk we heard back in 2007 when Boise St faced Oklahoma in the Fiesta bowl and Boise beat them Sooners. We will never know what LSU will do to Ok st or how bad Ok st would beat LSU because the BCS has been manipulated to put this garbage rematch together again. Like many have said, Alabama had their shot and lost at home.

I was carrying on a discussion about LSU versus Oklahoma State, and why there is no playoff system.  I went on to offer my opinion on how a game between LSU and Okie State would turn out had they played.

In your response you mentioned how Alabama could have been in LSU's shoes had they beat them (pretty obvious), and that Alabama's kicking game is " fucking joke."  None of that had anything to do with what was being discusssed.  Alabama was never mentioned.

Your second response is also off the mark.  I haven't said a word about which team should or shouldn't have been selected to play LSU in the championship game.  I said one of the main reasons there in no playoff system is because the Big 12 is blocking it.  Therefore Oklahhoma State's only gripe is with the officials of their own conference.

How good do you expect the records in the SEC to be when they have FOUR teams in the top 9 of the BCS?????

Unlike the Big 12, they dont all switch off beating each other....the top teams win like they are suppose to and yet somehow the SEC is down.

#1, #2 and #3 2 weeks ago and end the year with the #1, #2, #6, and #9 teams.....yeah SEC sure looks like they had a down year.....4 teams in the top 9....

The SEC proposed a plus-one.  And when it came to an actual vote, all automatic qualifying conferences -- including the SEC -- turned it down.

  It never came to a vote because none of the other AQ conferences would even entertain the notion of a +1 except the ACC.

I'm not a covers message board sleuth, so if you didn't say it, then I stand corrected but I could've sworn you said Bama would easily cover the 4 pt spread and that their size would wear down LSU, which was built for speed.

Alabama got in the championship game because Okie State, Oklahoma, Boise, Oregon and Stanford all choked against scrubs. You guys are just running off at the mouth without even realizing what you are saying . SEC is overrated, SEC gets special treatment, blah blah blah... you and many more on this forum have a severe case of SEC fatigue, tired of seeing your teams never win the big dance, tired of seeing your conferences wallow in mediocracy, tired of seeing the SEC crush your teams whenever they do make it to the title game.... Heres a solution.. don't fight it, imbrace it, and learn to love it, because it isn't going to change. You will be much happier and will find peace with yourself.

Other teams don't "deserve" to play in the BCS championship b/c they have a loss??  Stanford loss to Oregon was a scrub??

You don't even realize that you're supporting the OP's argument.  The SEC has an unbalanced advantage to playing the NC game.

Personally, I'd love to see an SEC v SEC matchup every year. Eventually, other conferences will get tired of it and demand a playoff.

anyone who knows anything about football knows lsu and bama are so far and away the best teams in college this year and it's not close...i'm really surprised anyone who feels differently would actually put their hard-earned money down on this sport

But that's not supposed to be the point.  Boise starters could all be future NFL starters but they'll always be denied a BCS championship appearance b/c they "haven't played anybody"???

The point is that "every game counts."  And, that the "body of work" is more important.  Well, Bama has beaten NOBODY as Boom Boom showed.  Certainly not compared w/ Okla State.

All Okla st had to do was hold onto a 17 point lead vs a team like Iowa st and there would have been no questions!!They couldnt do it!!They can only look at themselves for blowing it!!Also maybe they should just add a game and have Bama play Okla st for the rite to play LSU but thenof course you would prolly have the same result Bama vs LSU

Nobody finds "SEC Guy" more annoying than me but they do have the best conference as painful as that is to admit.  Their overall team speed and athleticism along the D-line set them apart.  Well actually their academic standards and pay for play are probably the main thing that set them apart.  As long as they allow guys into school that need a tutor to help spell their full name this won't change.  There is a reason Vandy can't compete in that league.

The only time I discussed size was in comparing the two defenses.  I said that Alabama's much bigger defense was much better equipped to stop a power running game than LSU was.  That's pretty much how it played out in that Alabama's defense largely shut down the run between the tackles.  LSU, however, wisely chose to attack Alabama on the perimeter instead, and that's where they found success.

I would have to go back and read my write-up to see if I said anything about LSU's defense wearing down.  I may have.  I know that I said something about LSU utilizing a 9-man rotation on the defensive line to keep them fresh.

I predicted before the game that LSU would score between 10-17 points, and that Alabama would score between 20-27 points.  And although I said I thought Alabama would win and cover, I never said anything about Alabama covering easily.  In fact, Alabama was NOT a "Best Bet" for me in the evening time slot.  The only bet I made on the game was having Alabama in a 2-unit, 3-team parlay.
