Lefevour FEVER is rampant right now with everyone and their mother backing Central Michigan. I think everyone is getting caught up with all these rankings and are blind to the fact that TROY IS THE BETTER TEAM. Wake up everyone! Central Michigan should not be ranked in the top 25! No MAC team should be!
This is a case of where both teams' offensive and defensive ratings are completely skewed. Central Michigan's being overrated and Troy's being underrated.
Current rankings have Central Michigan with the 17th ranked defense in the nation. I think this is a complete joke as most of CMU's opponents in the MAC have some of the worst offenses in the country. It is easy to shut down opponents when they are ranked in the 100's. Everyone is saying how CMU has the superior defense in this match up but I completely disagree.
The same goes for CMU's offense. Their offensive stats are completely inflated after beating up on weak MAC opponents.
On the other hand, Troy is coming into this game completely underrated. Troy's defense is ranked in the100's but their defensive stats are skewed from the two games they played against Florida and Arkansas. Take away the 660 yards from Florida and 592 yards at Arkansas and you will get a better representation of Troy's defense. By no means is it their strength, but they won't be thrown and run all over by CMU like most people think.
This game definitely will be the blowout many people are predicting.
This Central Michigan team was exposed last year by FIorida Atlantic in last year's bowl game.
Also, Central Michigan is playing without their headcoach who controlled 80% of their playing calling. Although I don't think it is that big of a deal, another advantage is that this game will be played two hours away from Troy's campus. What is important is that this is Central Michigan's first bowl game outside of their home state in years. I like Troy to win straight up!
