They actually played great against a decent Tulsa team this year. But that's the only game of note.
PENN STATE @ PURDUE: If the books keep spitting out lines like this, we have to keep taking them.

I thought the same thing and bet it accordingly. Purdue showed signs last week..played with discipline and actually competed for 4 quarters. In the preseason, I put this game in the winnable column. May be taking a shot on the ML as well.
Exactly. I remembered you said that. And you said that under Hazell which is far worse.

I'll say what I always say to these spread deviations for the guys asking: more risk, less reward in that you should just lower your bet accordingly. I'd still be in at +12. Just not for as much as I am. That's not a GREAT number like 14 but honestly I thought this would open at 8/9 points. I was even afraid of 7.5. In hindsight, that's good.
But apparently no one paid attention to the Neb/Purdue game. This may have been because the game originally aired on ESPN, was switched to ESPN2 after the first series and worse, was originally scheduled for ESPN News. That may have taken away thousands of bettors eyes who missed out on the gutsy display Purdue put up. It wasn't the "same old Boilermakers". Just ask BigVern. He saw it. It was the best whole game performance in a loss I've seen from Purdue in YEARS. And I have to say "loss" because that's all Purdue does. But don't worry about a loss in general because we get a big number here!

As far as the 14 goes, I think it's gone for good. I just happened to catch the spike at the right time.

They showed up to compete under the interim HC....that is a major step in the right direction.
The only thing that gives me pause is that they were playing against a highly ranked Mike Riley squad. I hate to break it to Husker nation, but as the stakes rise, you will see performance suffer. It is Riley...do not get confused.
That is a big reason why Wisky is laying 8 this week...I was looking to unload around 3 or 4...but 8? Oddsmakers are wise to the game.....

I actually would have waited on this one scal.... I think it goes above 14 at some point during the week.

Another thing I liked that I saw from Purdue was they ran a fake punt from there own 30. They didn't get it, but I like a new coach who isn't afraid to throw the kitchen sink at people in order to try and win. At this point if you're Purdue you got nothing to lose so may as well throw conventional wisdom out the window.
Exactly. Haven't seen that play in EVERY GAME under Hazell. It keeps teams on their toes. Purdue becomes a threat to run a trick play. Helps the run game as teams drop back.
How about Blough tossing to Jones going for it all ON THE FIRST PLAY OF THE GAME!
Purdue NEVER does that.
After that play, Purdue dominated in a hostile environment 14-3 to head into the half 14-10. Think about that. As a 24.5 pt dog, they lead at the half against an undefeated Nebraska team. Compare that to the first half against Iowa 35-7.
Compare that to the first half against Maryland 29-0. This coach is bringing out all the stops as you said.
He has NOTHING to lose. The Purdue fans want Les Miles. They won't get him but it is assumed they will get a coach of note.
Gerard Parker is on the grandest stage at a Power 5 school. No one knows who he is or what he will bring. He will bring it all against PSU at home for the first time in front of the alums with an inspired Purdue roster. And we get almost 2 TD's as insurance. Pretty damn good if you ask me!

'WISH I COULD BET IT But no way Can I waste 5 seconds watching these 2 playBEST OF LUCK BROTHER MUCH RESPECT 23-8
Double, you absolutely can bet it.
Most of the money I've made gambling is off the teams that have made me feel the most uncomfortable! And Purdue is near the top of the list in that regard.
Hit these bad teams up when the public thinks they are a dumpster fire and the books heap a ton of points towards them. Internally they are actually surging, if not just for a game. 14 wow.
And yes Nev +8 had my jaw hitting the floor but that doesn't really speak to this game. Let's not start picking on Riley here. His team is undefeated. People did the same thing to Iowa last year and they ran the table before flaming out on one play. Just saying, Pudue's performance against NEB is noteworthy and helps us pull the trigger here!

I said the second that Penn State lost that I was gonna bet heavy on whoever they played the next week. Sadly I soon realized that team was the Boilermakers. Although I hate what I've seen from this team this year, there's nobody I trust more when it comes to Purdue football Let's keep the hot streak going!BOL
I wouldn't put it out there if I knew others were going to bet it and lose. We are here to win and win only JCl!

Anyone want to throw me a bone and tell me if they Indians at +175 for the series Is a good bet? Seems like good value with home field and a century old hex to snap. But I don't cap MLB so what do I know.

PSU obvious big win, and sandwich game between another night home game for them next week with Iowa coming to HV.
Coach Franklin is off to funeral of father of his niece and nephew this week too until Wednesday.
Now, to say PSU been horrible on the road isnt quite right. They lost to Pitt by 3 cuz a wr dropped a td pass to come back and win. They got killed at Michigan, who doesnt this year? They also played that game without their top 3 LBs (2 of which just came back for OSU game) and a 4th who got kicked out in the first quarter. The Pitt game they also played without two of those linebackers and they were gashed by the pitt power run game like michigan did.
I will say this as I put on here Michigan was my biggest bet ever against PSU for some of those reasons mentioned above. PSU is improving. Since 2nd half of Minnesota game its been unbelievable how much they have improved.
Good luck to you, i wont be betting it but i feel to have a good handle on this PSU team because of how much film i watched leading up to my big bet last month vs mich. Its a different team now, offense more comfortable, defense line has matured tenfold and health at LB and corner.
I say its close to that number, perhaps PSU by 10 and you get there....

Oh get out of here with you cant watch these two play...But you bet the Tulane's and Wake Forests of the world week in and week out.
Nothing like Wake Army game this week right.

Appreciate it. I'm assuming you're taking the Indians at +175 when it's a coin toss! I may throw something down now.

Good info. I never said that they played poorly at home only that they've played 3 straight at home.
And even you see this as a 10 pt game. For all the improvements PSU has made, Purdue, in the past game and a half (second half against Iowa where they outscored Iowa 28-14) and the game against NEB, they are playing their best ball of the year by far. So Purdue has the edge there in terms of advancement as a team from game 1.
