My brother is s freshman at u of oregon...been a fan since he was 5!!!(my family huge duck fans from Hawaii)...he waits in line 5 hours before game to sit in front row...(he already had student ticket). But he couldn't get one to the duck Stanford game cause of the damn lottery system Oregon does in giving them out. He had my family along with multiple friends trying to get tickets when they were giving them out(on computer..have to get lucky getting into ducks website). I wish that colleges would give tickets go true fans that will wait 5-6 hours to just get good seats, instead of college kids that would rather drink outside and get so drunk they don't remember the game! Sorry..had to rant!

They can...but it also is a stupid lottery, and he didn't get it. I'm going to buy him a ticket to Stanford game, but it's going to cost 200-300 dollars, and he won't be able to sit with any friends in student section. But Oregon stadium is wild, so any seat is pretty darn good!

I was a student at TN in 1998 when the Vols played FSU in the C-game. About that time TN started the "Lottery" System, because students would camp out all night to get tickets. (and actually this was quite fun back in the day...a fifth of wiskey, couple pack of smokes...good times!) But the good ole days came to an end with the lottery . And to make matters worse the lottery was not filled with students who actually wanted to go to the game, but the winners of the student ticket lottery put them up for sale in the "Daily Beacon", a school sponsored paper. As a college student I had to pay another College Student $225 for a ticket from someone who likely would have been unwilling to stand in a line all night long! It angered me even more that the "Daily Beacon" facilitated this action by creating a section specific for the sale of the tickets. (BTW, scalping tickets is legal in the state of TN...and I am glad it is as that is how I typically get tickets....a hell of a lot cheaper then sizable donations to an institution of my choice).
And a lesson for all you youngsters out there.....bowl tickets are very cheap on the street assuming the bowl game is not a close proximity to one of the participants. (I could have bought a ticket in Tempe before that game for $20 in 1998) I went to the Orange Bowl in 2005 for a C-game and got that ticket for $10 (USCw and Oklahoma).
