There isn't really any solution. The only thing I can think of is self moderation of each persons own thread, but that'll probably never happen.

I think NickyEyes said it best: there is no way to stop the Haters who infest so many of the threads here on Covers. Attention person, petty jealousy, anger over  mounting gambling losses...who knows what's the motivation behind the animosity? I personally don't understand why people go through the effort of posting trash on someone's thread...

This used to be my favorite thread to read on Covers, even though I don't tail I4U on all his plays. It was just full of useful gambling knowledge and civilized discourse. Now, not so much.

 

I think I4U is a talented handicapper and an asset to the forums. There will always be "haters" who, for various reasons, benefit from I4U ceasing to post. There is a simple solution to this and it pertains to the manner in which these threads are created.

For the people who can see through what is slowly happening here, I'm sure you can appreciate that this is all a part of the "the game". The Covers vets know what is going on and what is about to happen very soon. If you read between the lines of I4U's last post, the seeds are already being planted. It is like clockwork with MANY examples of forum posters following this game-plan..

I4U, I'm pretty sure what your next steps are. Once again, I think you are talented but understand that it is a completely different, ruthless world on that side of this industry.

I4U supporters, it's very easy to pick out the "haters" who just want to bring someone down and they should be ignored. But try to think about this objectively and don't be surprised when some "thinking" is done in the next few days and its "just not fun" or its "not worth the hassle" for I4U to continue posting. Whether or not you choose to follow I4U is your prerogative but keep your eyes open.

Look at it reasonably.  "Investments".  In other words, he wagers to make money.  He is a busnessman, an investor.  Now, what businessman/invester wants to work for free if they are talented.  None that I know of.  What talented stock broker gives out their selections for free?? Of course his posts here are all a set up to go to a paid service, unless he is just doing it out of the kindness of his heart, while dealing with all the haters?  He's in it, like everyone else is, to make money.  Hence, he's going to find a way to make more money at it.  Bye Bye Investments4you's.

It seems very extreme for Invest to stop posting because 2 or 3 people are giving him grief especially when the very way to shut those people up is to do what he normally does and that is post winners.

Invest posted one time that he gave out his plays because he liked helping people and that he enjoyed the banter of the thread, well if these 2 or 3 people hating on him are ruining it for him then join another forum there are a number of them which ban haters immediately and i am sure that most of his friends on here would go their with him.

What Up fellas,, Ya I took the day off from the forum like my Bud Philo recommended ,,, People have a short term memory,, 90 straight weeks, day in and day out I have shared my plays.. Remember,, whether I am posting or not, I am on the games, every day,,, This is my living... So ask yourself,, what would you do if everyday you have to work,, and there is people just talkin trash, making up stuff,, lying to get attention??  Would you want to stay in that same place working, or would you pick up your stuff and move to a different cubicle??   All of this stuff started happening two weeks ago... Before that,, All my COvers buds and I maintained great threads,, and it was all about making money,, and I really hope so far that alot of you have made some great money...  You cant win every play you post,, thats never the goal,, The goal is to win more than you lose..   Anyway,, NFL was good to day,, just like it has been every weekend except for two weekends ,, profit made... And it was alot less stressful since I didnt have to worry about defending myself against false accusations... 

For anyone that thinks I am doing something different than what I have been doing for a year and a half..  I went into my Covers space and copied my first post back, when I made the choice to come onto the forum and help people learn how to be successful sports investing.. Look for yourself, its still there,,,  But I will paste it so you can make your mind up if I am saying anything different today then I did since day 1....        Glad to be back this year for another NFL season. I missed out on posting and playing the games for the most part last season. I will be keeping track of all Straight Bets. This includes sides and totals. Every now and then I will post ML parlays, however I will not include these in my record. So if you choose to play my investments, I want you to know that Parlays are not smart Investments. I only recommend that you follow my straight bet plays. Also, I will start my record over at (0-0-0) when the regular season starts. Below you will see a chart that will help both you and me to keep track of how many smart investments we have made thus far. 

I have been handicapping games for about 5 years now; I have made just about every mistake that one can make when it comes to sports investing. Including not keeping track of my ROI, paying a service before researching their past results, and most importantly, not using smart money management. I’m sure we all have at some point or another made these common mistakes when first starting out in the sports investing world. However, only those that learn from their mistakes can go on to succeed and move forward towards your goals of winning. When I handicap the game I will use many different methods to come to my final decision. I will only invest in those opportunities’ that offer the best value. It is very important to recognize that some weeks I may have more selections then previous weeks and vice versa. It is not of any value to play games just because there is a game being played. It takes discipline and control to retain you from trying to wager on a game just because it is the only one being played that night. Only if there is value and it fits the system after all filters should you wager on a game.

 

       I will also be posting NCAA Football selections in the exact same format. Please, note that my units are simply that, just units. A unit can equal whatever you want it to. I recommend taking your total bank roll and dividing that by 20, or take your total bankroll and multiply by 5%, (.05).  If you do this and invest the exact amount each time, you have a much better chance of ending the season with a profit. Everyone has their own value for 1 unit. i.e. 50,100,25.2000, what is important is that you figure out what your Unit should equal. If it equals 50 dollars and I post a play with 3 units beside it, then obviously you should wager 150 dollars. I cannot stress enough how important this is, if you are doing well and have an increase in your bankroll, DO NOT decide to wager 3X your normal amount and lose the profits it took you a week to earn. If you will be smart, and mange your investments, you WILL see ROI.

  

        We are all here for the same reason, to make some sort of profit. Whether it is just a hobby, or a way to lead you toward early retirement, we all want to WIN!! I am excited to share my opinions and investments with you all. Some plays may not have any write-ups if there is not enough time. However you can rest assured that I Will Not Post any plays that I have not researched and filtered before posting. At the time of posting each play I will use widely available lines, so if you are following my plays note that I will be posting the lines at the time of the post. Sometimes these lines will move against us or to our advantage. So it is entirely your responsibility to wager when and where you can get your best value line. Also, if you lose, then it is your money, it is your choice to make the investment, as long as you are using smart money management then you should be okay. Use your own judgments on how much you should wager each game. This should be an exciting year, many different angles to take and LOTS of new coaches.

 

      I am excited to be posting again this Football season after missing out on sharing my investments last season. I will also be posting NBA plays again this season.

Hey I4U, don't post much but I have to tell you that I have learned valuable lessons following your $management and some picks.  You have always posted the same way, some days I have missed plays but this is how you do it.  I just assumed you were watching line movements and late $.  Why are these people complaining about sitting by their computer.  I just wait 5 minutes before the games and see what ur picks look like.  Keep helping novices like me and ignore the morons.  Consistency is what keeps us gamblers afloat.  Most of these guys come and go but the few that have been around for awhile have a plan and stick to it.  Thank you for all ur help.

Looking forward to the new post.    I think you have a lot of good people on here that feel the same way.  Somone kicked a rock and a group of haters slitherd out on the same week.  I noticed, with the exception of that dip shit Uriss, (thousands of posts, and he acts like that on your thread.)  most had 50 or less posts.  Go figure???  Anyway when you come back we will be here.      Giant can stop crying now
