LSU vs BAMA

I've watched both teams, and i honestly can't see how bama beats LSU. Sure i understand bama is home, and homefield advantage is huge in college football, but watching this LSU team dominate teams on the road, i can honestly say i feel LSU wins this outright. I will be taking them moneyline which is at +163 right now. They have been my money wagon this year and i don't see them stopping. Bama has a great defense too, but the LSU defense is on another level. The corners on that team are some of the best i've ever seen in college football. Bama's Oline could be the only trouble that LSU has but even then i don't think it will be enough to beat LSU. i've watched both teams play and honestly i'm trying to talk myself out of betting LSU huge on the money line but can't find an angle. Please anyone, if you have something to share, please do. And as always, BOL to all.

lol. Thats what im saying. I'm not saying LSU doesn't have flaws, but to me they are nearly unscorable against. You can't win games if you dont score plain and simple.

You really think Bama has better WR's than LSU.  Bama's OLine is banged up or otherwise I would say they are about even.

The REFS are the only way Bama wins. Keep an eye out on them and you'll see what I'm talking about. Every time LSU plays Alabama on the road, Bama get favorable calls.

My reason for picking the tide is they are better than lsu in every category statistically. I know this is some what skewed because they have faced different levels of competition but the tide are better on defense in total yards, passing yds, rush yds, pts allowed and fg %. The tide are better on offense in total yds, passing yds, rush yds, pts allowed and fg %. I have watched every game these two teams have played and I trust the bama offense more and the bama defense more than lsu’s offense and pass defense right now. I saw lsu get torched by geno smith of WV for over 400 passing yards on primetime tv. WV had multiple opportunities to beat lsu that night and just couldn’t get in the end zone. I saw lsu struggle to score against miss st and i see bama as a way better defensive team statistically at home. I can understand why people are on lsu but for me it comes down to in the end on trust and i trust more bama at home so i’m taking the bama ML.

You are correct that statisically they are better.  They are not better than LSU in Sacks, INT and Sacks against.  Sacks against is probably the most important stat of the three because this will give Lee time to throw in the pocket.

I think this is pretty accurate.  I would grade it as follows:

QB - Even
RB - Bama
OL - Slight advantage to Bama
WR - LSU
TE - Bama
DL - LSU
LB - Substantial advantage to Bama
DB - Slight advantage to Bama
ST - LSU

I will do a thorough write-up on this game next week, but I think the key to this game is that LSU's defense is not built to stop Bama's power running attack.  Bama's huge and powerful o-line and RBs versus LBers that average 218 lbs and DBs that average 188 lbs is a mismatch.

Both teams have power running attacks.  The difference is one team has a defense built to stop a power running attack, and one doesn't.

Like two years ago at Bryant-Denny Stadium, I think the physical beating LSU will suffer will be much worse than the beating they suffer on the scoreboard.

 

I cant understand how you can give BAMA the edge at DB. Between Mathieu, Claiborne and Taylor, tahst 3 of the best in the SEC right there.

Im thinking in a game this big that was moved to 8pm eastern start in prime time the officiating will have to be right on and not like a couple of years ago when it was obvious on many calls that went BAMA'S way. This will be the biggest college regular season football game in god knows how long!!!!

I already have Bama -4 and will be adding a lot more at anything -6.5 or less. I like Bama to win by double digits.

LSU is a very good team but Alabama is a GREAT team. The Crimson Tide are MEN. These guys are beasts, monsters, whatever cliche you want to use. LSU are a little small and more built upon speed. The problem is Alabama has speed and power. I think their defense will go down as one of the best ever, and I said that before the start of the year. Give me Saban in a huge game like this 100/100. He's the best coach in the game and will have this team ready to abuse LSU.

Alabama has the #1 CB in the nation, the #1 SS in the nation, the #1 FS in the nation, and are coached by the best secondary coach in all of football.  Not taking anything away from LSU's secondary, because they are outstanding, but Alabama clearly has the best secondary in the country.  Alabama seconday is also much larger than LSU's seconday, and they don't surrender 463 passing yards to Big East schools.
