Or you called the cops when you saw a co-worker pocket something that belonged to the company you work for? Or witnessed any crime and didn't call the cops? Or bet with a local bookie? Now you all will say that these crimes don't compare to what went on at PSU but the fact is there are still crimes and you have a "moral" ob ligation to report it. It's always easy to talk about someone elses moral while ignoring your own.

Alot of talkers but even something as simple as  seeing someone get beat up not many people are willing to stop to break it up.  A bunch of blamers but at the end of the day, many are cowards that aren't willing to help his fellow man.

Has anyone asked why hasn't the wife reported this?  I'm sure she probably knew also.

This situation is complicated.  Not as simple as everyone makes it.  It's easy to make a comment but it's not easy when you are involved.  Just like it's not easy for many of the victims to come out until many years after.

What, you think kids have never been hurt, maimed or killed by a drunk driver? A crime is a crime and if you were a "moral" person you would report it. And who kept this person employed for 9 years?

The other thing that needs to be stated is that it is a fact that nothing would have happened even if McQuery went to the police... This boy had no parents, and was likely guarded by the State, the State of Pennsyvania would have to press charges against Sandusky, something they probably wouldnt have done... The university my have known this, and dealt with it in the cowardly way that they did...

The children are orphans and therefore have very little rights... These types of children will ALWAYS be the first victims of sexual abuse because they can be manipulated and the system sees them as liars by design... This will be true from now until the end of the human race.

You do realize you didn't dispute a single aspect of what I said.. you just parroted the general media B.S.  It sounds like everyone beef is with the laws of this country.

Apparently we will now hold people responsible for acts that others tell them they saw and make it mandatory to follow up w/ the police later.

Granted I have already admitted if there is some cover up going on..  that Joe P is involved in.. than he's gone.  You wanna share the cover up story?  I'm unsure how doing exactly what the law says is "covering up".

Yeah there are a lot of "Einsteins" in this thread.

So in your opinion you can be immoral in some circumstances? Double standards?

So in your opinion you can be immoral in some circumstances? Double standards?

I think you are living in a fantasy world right now... The indictment alone has damned Penn State... Everything would be fine except for the one fact... Sandusky's third party program was allowed to use penn State facilities free of charge, or at a discounted rate... This will hold not only the athletic program responsible, but the entire university responsible and IS without a doubt, the largest university related scandal in the history of this country, other than school shootings... If a number of Programs do not get shut down, then the federal government will have to step in and recommend a decrease or total elimination of State Tax payer Funding for Penn State university... The University will do anything in its power to prevent this... Including mandating its own death Sentence on itself... Anything else will probably not be enough...

Joe is the central figurehead of that university, and he and the other higher ups made a CONSCIOUS decision (it is absolutely impossible that it was not a conscious decision, but just collective ignorance and naivete) to sweep it under the rug, for fear of the ramifications it would ultimately have upon themselves...

to that... i say... fuck you Penn St!  fuck you Joe Pa!  fuck you anybody who doesn't get why this is so sickeningly sinister!  and fuck you to anybody who supports him or the university in any way, because it means... That  says  it all.  The aspect of this that is  so  galling is that McQueary said he saw the specific act of anal sex between Sandusky and a  10 yr old.

As  you  say,  if  it  was Joe Paterno's  grandson who was the  victim  there would  have been much much more reaction.

I'm not getting how some of you can say Paterno did enough.  The mans reputation was that he ran his team as a family and cared about his players and community.  You can't turn a blind eye to this and then the next day portray yourself as a morally right person.  I think whats pissing people off more than anything is that we all thought Paterno was a good guy that ran a program the right way and would do the right thing.  If this had happened under Lane Kiffins watch i wouldn't be as surprsed.  I've always thought he was shadey and would do whatever it took to win more games.  He'd hoar out his own wife in a buhkake for a national title.

All this is a result of is someone being somewhere for too long which breeds mediocrity and familiarity when then leads this.

Paterno must be held accountable for this has he literally runs the school. What else has been hidden by Joe over the years?

You do realize you didn't dispute a single aspect of what I said.. you just parroted the general media B.S.  It sounds like everyone beef is with the laws of this country.

Apparently we will now hold people responsible for acts that others tell them they saw and make it mandatory to follow up w/ the police later.

Granted I have already admitted if there is some cover up going on..  that Joe P is involved in.. than he's gone.  You wanna share the cover up story?  I'm unsure how doing exactly what the law says is "covering up".

Based on the facts Paterno either knew there was a cover up or he has an IQ under 75.

I wouldn’t be friends with someone who kept getting accused of raping little boys.

Paterno might have done everything he was LEGALLY supposed to do, but every decent human being agrees he didn’t do everything he was MORALLY supposed to do.  That is the issue here.

Yup, saying little boys should be protected from being sodomized and forced to perform oral sex on a pedophile is clearly “BS.”  What the fuck is wrong with you?

You continuing to rant and rave about what Paterno did legally is irrelevant.  Although it is a telltale sign of what’s in your heart when you can hear/read what this sick son of bitch did to children and say it’s ok to not go to the police because you are not LEGALLY required to do so.

Learning someone under your own roof is sexually abusing little boys and doing next to nothing about it is comparable to placing a bet on a football game?

links request was for dovjac. In response to you ,yes very damning to PSU. I can't understand why this isn't a federal case as at least 1 victim accompanied Sandusky out of state if I read things right. But my point still is about morals. Most every post references morals. But it seems to me that what they deem moral for one is not moral for themselves.
