Littlevoice:  Doss...a senior and was a reason why Ohio State won the national championship against the University of Miami in the Fiesta Bowl

He was one of the reasons the Bucks won, but THE reason, imo, they won was MC the Felon, when he grabed the ball away from a UM back after an interception.  That play was the Game.

    Versesov:  Leroy Keyes

Keyes was a pleasure to watch...he also was a two-way guy in the day of unlimited scholarships where schools like Pitt, under Johnny Majors, would bring in 110 guys each year.  Leroy only had three really bad games and those were when he would met Big Bad Jack Tatum, OSU.

i have never seen a player actually have total control of a game like Vince Young did.  at any time he wanted to be, he was deadly.

Clarett stripped Sean Taylor who should have just run out of bounds but of course he had to make a bigger play than just intercepting the ball

Yes, Taylor, thank you cornhusker4life.  Had his name on the tip of my fingers but could not type it out.  That scene is clear though:  wow...run out of bounds...out of bounds!...what happened...why...wow, Ohio's ball.  Not a smart play.  By the way cornhusker4life, split on your team (Nevada , WF ) and will take them this weekend.  Good Luck.

Also forgot about Tony Dorsett who won the Heisman just before Earl...have to bump Marshall from the top 5 as I liked Billy Sims punishing running style a bit better.

Dave Dickenson, QB Montana Grizzlies 1992-1995.  1995 Payton award winner for best player in 1AA, led montana grizzlies to 1995 national championship. His numbers dwarfed those of ESPN darling Steve AIR Mcnair........and usually he was taken out of the game at HALFTIME.
His control and ability to read defenses was, and is (still with the BC Lions), a thing of beauty to watch.  He ran one one of the most prolific offenses in NCAA history, the original spread attack. There have been many knockoffs, see Texas Tech.....Hawaii.....Missouri, but only one original.  Dickenson was definetely  the best player I have ever seen play college football.

Dan Marino had quite a 1981 throwing 37 TD's (at the time, really amazing).

I remember watching Barry Sanders....had never seen him before.  I had to go upstairs and get my dad and make him come watch the game on TV because I had never seen anything like it.  Just a wizard.

Ron Dayne was a fat tub of goo, but he was effective

That I've seen live- Reggie Bush. Highlight film of- Barry Sanders. Both could take over the game like nobody's business..

don't think barry tried to lateral a ball when up by 2 touchdowns that ended up costing them a national title like bush did though
