Sorry Irish. Depending on whose rankings you go by, Florida/USC had the best recruiting classes in the country last year.

Say what you want but Bama showed a lot of character at Arkansas.   My early lean is that they will roll over the Gators as I think they will be more emotionally charged than spent after that big win.  The Gators used to have a swagger about them when playing on the road, but I don't think they are even near that feeling now.  The swagger belongs to the Tide and I say they roll this week.

Again, these hand picked DBs we wearing clown suits for 45 minutes of a 60 minute game.

Lets be realistic and not look through things with our bama glasses on.

I thought we educated the Bama homers all week last week. They lose their bets and are still back at it?

Geez.

much tougher game to cap than last week's affair due to QB play.

was much more comfortable taking Mallett at home than I am with Brantley on the road.   haven't seen a big receiver really step it up for Florida all year which is what they need.

you should make your points, but not get so worked up over these games.  Even if you are right, it's not that important to get so fired up over conflicting opinions and start calling people idiots.

I hope you blast the books, and if you are confident, that is okay.  Just don't make it so aggressive...you will get yours one day and unfortunately, people will blast you back.

good luck this week.

It will be tough to blast me, because I would never say ONE single game is a sure fire legitimate bank dropper like Jimmy did. I was disrespected all last week, Im just waiting for someone to admit that Bama is not as good as they thought they were. Yet, I still hear the same comments even when they are lucky to beat a team with a bad defense. I am always consistent in this business and I just hold nothing back, you will rarely find me having losing days in football.

Not to mention Tuscaloosa will be rediculous.  NOBODY should think that Alabama will come out flat.  It's Monday and the RV's are already showing up.

Alabama - 5  1st Half  5 Dollars's.

Are you saying that Janoris Jenkins  can't stop Julio jones by himself?

LOL, no you just aren't allowed to say ANYTHING even along the lines of whats negative about Alabama to their fans or what their weaknesses are. When you do, people end up telling you to fuck yourself, very nice. Read my thread again last week, it was just a fair warning to the people ATTACKING me about how good Bama is when I told them Arkansas was a trap and could beat them outright. Now after they come back and beat a team with a terrible defense, they are Gods all the sudden still. It is what it is, no Bama fans have EVER been objective to their own faults.

Irish 2202 few problems I have with your comments;

You said Florida is losing recruits inside the state.
 - They had the #1 recruiting class last year and are consistently in the top 5 every year. They are down this year because of how many recruits they took in last year so they don't have many spots available.

You said Bama's secondary was not exposed;
 - You must have missed Arkansas's opening drive. 2 plays and a TD, both plays had busted coverage (which if you ask me is a sign of inexperience). I think Mallett had over 200 yards passing at half time, how is that not exposing a pass defense?

You said a 5-2 defense cannot stop Bama;
 - How do you know? Have you seen a team use it already and fail? A 5-2 defense still leaves 4 DB's so I doubt Janoris Jenkins will be left on an island against Julio Jones. By the way I don't use a video game to analyze games, are you kidding me? I read articles and I have read articles where it literally states, they run a 5-2 defense so they can be more physical up front against Alabama.

Please read a post before you comment on it.

The versatility of that 5-2 with the speed and athletes they have came real fast too, they make it look like a 4-3 too with Powell and Lemmens type players coming off the edge standing up before the snap. The defense has started out way better than I think anyone expected and I love how aggressive Austin is at all times, I never understood why Charlie Strong had us playing in the 3-3-5 and 4-3 off and on in zones against Bama last year. It literally gave them the look they wanted

Yeah so far I am really liking the hiring of Teryl Austin, I was really worried I would miss Charlie Strong but so far the defense looks just as good as ever. Other then Patrick Peterson and Prince Amukara how many corners are looking better then Janoris Jenkins?

I understand he has not been tested by an elite WR, but he has looked great in just about every situation he has been in.

Although I know talking to you is like talking to a rock, here goes, yes you said Arkansas would cover, and could possibly win, ok heres your cookie, now act like you have been right before and quit acting like a douche. Now if I wanted to be an immature dick like yourself, I would go dig up the several threads from last year where you ended up looking like a bumbling idiot, especially the Bama/ VT thread, oh and lets not forget about the Bama/ Florida thread. People like you are what is wrong with Covers, classless pieces of trash who has nothing better to do than run your mouth, and bust other peoples chops when they are wrong. Congrats again on your prediction.

No, I never act like a dick after a win, I just gave exactly back what was dished at me and wanted an answer to why what I said all week happened. I NEVER played VT last year, I said they could compete with them throughout, which they did. I give out nothing but winners in every sport, people that know me and talk to me know how I am. Sometimes you have to dish back to arrogant pricks what they give out to prove a point and get them to respect and listen to your opinion the next time and not just laugh and tell you already lost your bet a week before the game.

All drama aside, this game will be close.

A blowout would mean I would be mad at Tideman for at least 3 weeks.

Child please! Little boy stop preaching the gators. It's really pathetic. Bama is going to take the gators across their knee and tell them a bed time story. Just like i would do to you little wannabe internet gangsta boy. Son save your piggy bank money.

Gambling is a mans game. Bama should win big. I want bama to win so bad now more than ever. I am not even a bama fan but i do respect them. If your betting on the gators because you cap the game and see it? Fine but if your a homer fan and are just doing it because of what the gators did to Kentucky? That's plain stupid.

You think a player with 11 attempts in college and a freshman is going into bama territory and is going to play like he did against the tide? All the hype surrounding Trey Burton is insane. This guy has done nothing to deserve to be in a position to have money placed on his ability to perform on the field? If Trey Burton is MVP of this upcoming game it will be a fucking miracle. Baby Child please.

I actually thought your posts were entertaining before you attacked me yesterday. I would like this childish back and forth to stop. I am really too damn old to have a little kid fight.

I try really hard to just play around and have a civil discussion but some one always screws that up. I am going to end this. I disagree with your gators pick but i don't want to attack you personally or have someone attack me personally. I am a grown ass man dog. That's what cedric the entertainer always says.

Bama -8.5 is my bet. The gators lost a lot of players on defense and they lost to bama last year when the gators were better as a team and gave up 32 points in that game on a neutral field. This game is in bama territory.

Bama held the great Tim Tebow to 13 points and Trey Burton is going to be able to do what Tebow couldn't do? Plus if bama put up 32 with last years offense? This years offense is better than last years bama offense and this years gator defense is worse than last years team that gave up 32 points.

My girlfriend told me to post this since you called me a troll. She is younger than i am. I had no idea what a troll was? I asked her what it was a she told me. She says you attacked me so that makes you a internet gangsta troll. Here is the troll song she said was funny to answer back with...

I "attacked" you when? I have seen nothing out of your mouth but talking about how Florida should be an unranked HS team compared to Alabama.

Also I NEVER said I was playing Florida in this game, but I did play them the last two weeks and warned everyone betting against them that they should cover, same with my Arkansas play against Bama. That would make me 3-0 in just those games alone.

I'm a USC fan but think Bama beats FLA by at least 14 pts this coming Saturday. Just my opinion.

That shit pissed me off. Your implying that i am a child and that i don't know what i am talking about. That was a personal attack. I never said anything about you or to you to deserve that. If you disagree with me say why by stating your opinion on the game? I hate being called or accused of being something i am not.

Florida is a good team and deserves to be ranked. I never said that about Florida. I just believe that Florida's defense and offense is nowhere near the caliber of Bama's. The Hogs had a solid receiving core and a potential NFL QB on offense and they were playing at home.

I just don't see any value in taking Florida here. They are overmatched in every single category. Bama is a veteran team with superiour talent in every single position that is looking to bounce back and impress at home. I will be very surprised if Bama doesn't win this game by 2 touchdowns at least.

Could Florida cover? Yes they could? If Bama makes tons of mistakes and the refs help out the weaker Gator team? Then the Gators cover or pull out a huge upset. If Bama plays up to their potential? I don't see this going well for the Gators.

It's hard to cap injuries, blown coverages, penalties and the refs. The Gators are going to need a lot of things to go their way for them to hang in this game. If i am wrong? Which i am from time to time. I will man up and come on here and admit i made a bad call.

My money is on the defending champs at home in Bryant Denny Stadium where they win about 80 percent of the time.

Crazy things do happen in College football? That's why they play the game!

Jwheeles, first off we can have an objective conversation and I graduated from Auburn and still cann't spell for sh!t. Nip all the spelling jokes.

First off we’ll expose the Jones and Jenkins matchup.  (And Please, Comments are welcome, it’s us against the books guys).  We’ll start with height and weight.  Jones 6’5 217   Jenkins 5’10 190.  Jenkins has always had a tackling problem. He had a MINOR shoulder surgery in the offseason.  All the grab ass after 5 yards will be called in T-Town.  All the Alumni that are paying Sabans bills didn’t come to this game to lose.  So the refs are already in the pocket.  Where this comes into HUGE proportion is in the Red Zone.  How are you going to load the box to stop Ingram, maintain outside containment to stop Richardson, and off Safety help to stop Jones.  All while trying to get pressure on the douche bag QB who’s never been beat (not even in high school)

After reading all the BS in this thread someone finally talks sense!  The play calling for Bama was terrible in the first half of the Arkansas game.  What were they doing passing in the red zone when they could run at will against Arkansas?  However adjustments were made at halftime and the offense and defense tightened up and won a big test.  I predict a lot of running and short passes for Bama in the first half to sucker Florida in.  I think Mcelroy will hurt them with passing in the 2nd half.  Then once Bama has a double digit lead they will pound the hell out of the Gator defense and put a lot of pressure on the QB who will be forced to try and make plays with his arm.  This will be a statement game for Bama.  The line has already dropped as people with short memories were throwing thier money at the 9 point line.  By the way I am a homer.  Roll Tide!
