Cal has played a tough schedule with several of the teams they played are in the post season. One site I frequent has Cal SOS @ a + 0.0, whereas Hawaii is @ a negative - 7.7, when you see this much of a difference the team with the higher SOS wins decisively. My numbers have Cal winning by no less than- 3.09 pts. Sharps are on the home team, why , I don’t know. Hawaii does rank higher than Cal in a lot of defensive & offensive metrics. They’re better in possession efficiency, pts per drive , available line yds , yds per play , opponents pts per game “ home & road “ and pts per game “ home and road. Cal ranks a lot higher in field position though, which tells me everything I need to know. Cal played a much tougher schedule but, are still better in defensive field position. Cal will flip the field in this game a lot more than Hawaii will, which gives them more chances to score. Hawaii lost there main offensive threat to the portal , which was their young QB’s safety net. FPI is a true and accurate assessment of these games that I rely on steadily. They rank Cal higher in offensive and defensive metrics based on the SOS. This line has been all over the place for over a week now. Books are trying to balance out the action as best as possible. Hawaii looks like they win big based on stats that are in their favor based on their 6-1 record @ home but, Cals stud QB is also from their as well as their interim coach. I’m not fooled by Hawaii’s gaudy home numbers, I’m going with the bigger , faster , smarter team with better recruits. Going Cal + 1.5 3,600/3,000 @ Cal + 1 525/500 two different books. GL …
