Usually I would be surprised a team wouldn't try a hail mary at the end of the half in that situation.

Thats true. In 2 years he will be out at Oklahoma.

 

Mateer has been scared of his own shadow since that pick-6. Not a good sign.

He should have scripted the entire game.. not just first qtr… fireable offense being up 17 and lose… why would you want to hold onto that.   Maybe Oklahoma will dominate 4th qtr.   first and fourth.  Bama gets 2 and 3.   They need someone to make a play.

No matter how bad Venables is, your not firing your coach after he wins 10 games and makes the playoffs.

 I was kidding.   They recycle these fellas for decades.   His job is safe… he’ll get a D coordinator job almost anywhere… even though hid D tonight… did falter a bit… that thing with the punter was kind of a catalyst to their loss.
