    I'd put the odds of at least 1 snap at 90 to 95%.

    Schools where the students don't come back to campus will be OK.

    Also, if students come back on the last week of August, there will be a 10 to 14 day delay in cases, so they can get an early game in.

    I think a good even money bet would be "Will there be a snap after October 1? "

    Like I've said Thorpe, a million times... folks get too emotional, their child-like brain goes into lockdown mode.... only TWO results are conceivable - YES / NO !! -

        eg. don't love Trump huh? . you are a lib idiot !!!

              > a sign of a dumbazz BTW......no nuance to the conversation is allowed !!

    IMO...99%+ there is a single snap. It would take a massive outbreak in the next week or two, for who tf ? - Congress? to step in and say "no fall sports, period".

    * BYU / Navy?

    * Army/Navy?

    * any one team plays __ of games?

    * conference plays entire season?

    * 2 conferences play ....

    * 3 .........

    * game after 10/1?....11/1 etc

    * one / two / __bowls etc ?

    * playoff?

    *** Big10 and/or P12 reconsider?

    It is better to be feared - than to be loved.

    SEC would probably cancel the academic year and keep athletics if they had to pick one (except Vandy)

    To be fair, when you see the amount of revenue that schools generate with football it looks like a football business that teaches classes as a side hustle.

    40,000 students times $30,000 tuition = 1.2 billion dollars, and they make a lot more off other stuff too.  But the expenses are huge too, with all the tenured professors...

    Well , to date we have a total of 39 players from various teams who have elected to " Opt out " of the 2020 season.

    I believe there will be more to come.

    WF WR Sage Surratt ... good luck in the draft...

    ... yeah wise the list is growing longer...

    and probably alot more of the guys in the 3rd or so spot on the depth chart that might actually play later on this season... Gotta wonder if some of those guys actually mean 'well im cool to practice and maybe play 4 games but otherwise im opting out and taking my redshirt' and which mean 'im actually opting out'...

    Bridge , It's interesting to note that originally , all of the " Opt outs " were 1's that decided

    to focus on the 2021 NFL draft . Right now , I'm seeing it just about split between 1's and

    3's on the depth chart chart . Couple of teams have multiple opt outs at a specific position

    which will drive Coordinators and position coaches nuts.

    Kirby has to take a page out of the Saban and Orgeron playbook and just let Monken run the offense. It's been blatantly obvious Kirby has handicapped the offense and instructed them to play conservative, ball control, time of possession, etc. Can't do that in this day and age.

    That being said, the Dawgs return just about everybody from a top-3 defense. In a shortened offseason I like defense to prevail early because it's more reaction than coordination. I would honestly take UGA -28 or better against Arkansas even with a new QB and OC and probably look towards some opposing team total unders early in the season.

    yeah wise and at some point you gotta think they start saying okay sure opt out all you want through X date and after that you're either in or out and let em know if they're worth bringing back the next year.... no reason to incentive a bunch of #3's and 4's to stick around an extra year gobbling up your scholi spots so they can screw up your season ... should be no trouble cutting all the guarantee we'll save your spot, all the meal tickets and housing with the team, etc out of the opt out deal in the next week or so and won't see any more of that...  they could always transfer but most everyone else is pretty waterlogged with 3's and 4's already not to mention half the teams won't even have room for new recruits next year after cancelling their season and letting everyone come back to play football after being out for 2 years lol... basically just saying the leverage should start swingin back to coaches at some point..

    This is the kind of thing that will cancel the season.  They can live with any number of cases as long as they are relatively benign, but a few more serious cases and the season is over IMO.

    Yeah Obvi if he got covid while playing football and then they don't catch a heart condition caused by that and he dies we're treading in different waters here .. but they did identify it .... and sounds like but for the team required procedure they might not have ... So maybe actual story is football process worked?...

    I think it's also worth asking how serious the heart condition is.... the term of course sounds serious.... but if its so serious why does it say he only needs to sit out this year?... maybe just more precaution than actual caution....

    And just curious if the phony media even mentions where he even get covid ... was it with his team?.... or was it partying over the summer before freshman year of college?.... my guess is partying ... and i'll also guess he hasn't even been to practice yet ... cancel the season ... thats too funny ...

    Did some digging, says here (cbs sports) he got COVID during off-season.

    " Georgia State freshman quarterback https://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/players/playerpage/3162100/mikele-colasurdo has opted out of the 2020 season due to a heart condition that developed after he contracted COVID-19 during the offseason. The 6-foot-1, 210-pounder from Chapman High School in Inman, South Carolina, announced his decision in a post on Twitter.

    "I am very thankful for everyone who has reached out and prayed for me," he wrote. "I am also incredibly thankful for coach [Shawn] Elliott and trainer Bob [Murphy] for providing a safe environment for us to train and practice. Ultimately it was the procedures and tests set forth by GSU that allowed the doctors to find this condition in my heart and help keep me safe. I am very thankful."

    Colasurdo was a three-star prospect in the most recent recruiting class and enrolled this spring in the hopes of pushing for playing time for the Panthers."

    Don't think it really matters where he got covid . The point is a heart related ilness

    due to contracting the virus. I'm sure 90% + of players who contracted Covid , did not

    do so in a football related enviornment. The teams medical staffs will probably be looking

    at the overall health of athletes going forward , and not just take temperatures to mitigate

    risk to the University.

    Word up Wise...

    Saw the Yahoo top 25 today (minus big/pac, etc)... some recent news made on some of those way up there teams ..

    Oklahoma #4 - Already down Kennedy Brooks, but #2 RB Stevenson is suspended a couple games now unclear how many/how long just said several... #2 QB Tanner Mordechai is out a period of time w injury... maybe no big deal but sounded like he was gunna at least compete w Rattler .... Caleb Kelly starting LB out with an ACL, DL Jalen Redmond most sacks LY looks like he'll be RS'ing due to some legal trouble.. that line already had a few questions on it ... IDK... Its starting to add up  ..

    Clem at #1 .... their 3 projected starting WR's not in the scrimmage and missing practice... unclear what the deal is with them but Amari was out for a good part of LY and replacing the 3 super studs this year.... eek?

    UF at #6... their 3 proj. WR's missing practice .. speculation they might Opt.. figure a headline would note if they were back but didn't see that rectified yet..

    Max Duggan - Status uncertain from health condition... season uncertain... bummer if so .. note just how barren their QB situation is after Duggan with tons of xfers out in the last few years...

    Bridge , as a Bettor , this concerns me a great deal . With Bookmakers eager to hang some

    lines and get some revenue coming in , and Cappers looking to put some cash to work, this

    could be a major problem for bettors. Players not practicing in protest , the potential for

    treams to have multiple opt outs at a position ,will make it hard to guage production from

    teams in Week 1.

    If I'm a Clemson backer , and their WR's ain't practicing , Books are still gonna put a line

    up like everything is OK. I don't use stats to cap a matchup because stats don't reflect the

    exact matchup itself , just how teams played vs other opponents . IMO , a stat based

    capping method will prove to be a futile exercise this season. Last minute roster moves for

    health issues ,players playing out of shape , etc . will make cashing in week 1 very

    challenging.

    FYI , if you can find out which schools will have a " non contact " policy for practices, this

    should be looked at when capping week 1 games. Don't bet early just to be in the action ,

    make the wager only when you are sure of the teams status on gameday. It may save you

    some money.
