In each conference I will lay out my RANKING (ie, order inside Conf)  as well as a specific RATING (ie, strength relative to all 136 teams)

I use 7 main tiers for RATING their strength among all 136 FBS teams:

       G+       G        M+        M        M-        W       W- 

 Whereby  G = GOOD......... M = Mediocre/Middlin ........W = Weak

(in parenthesis after the team is how I had them ending last year)

Could just be me,  but this conference is legitimate from first to worst and wide open for the picking.  Expecting some home dogs to howl.  Some days I lean ASU, then other days a Texas school, then I fall back on Coach Whit and that Offensive Line of big ugliness of Utah revenging 5-7 last season.  Big fan of TCU QB and offense, defense not so much… wildcard Tex Tech trying to buy a title with some record transfer dollars.  Steady eddies and ruthless places to visit Nov-Dec….K-state, Iowa St

i don’t see a team surviving these conference games with only 2 losses…been incorrect often tho. Watch BYU go undefeated! Ha. Have a great Fall, the Duke 

A key QB injury is always a big concern - and they happen frequently.

Injuries occur to all positions so depth weighs heavy.  My ratings factor this in the best I can, but it can be a crap shoot on several teams, no doubt.

 After going 13 - 0 in 2023, I EXPECTED Florida State to have another good season in 2024....not another perfect season, no, but at least a GOOD, winning season.....possibly a playoff but for sure a good Bowl........ In the first 3 weeks I began my season LOSING heavily betting on them 4 times with that belief....

As summer camps progress I may need to revise some conferences based on key injuries.

....but so far nothing major...

I expect I will likely update prior to AUG 23 season start and possibly again prior to Aug 30 week 1

I use my "ratings" (not rankings) to assess the strength of a given team vs their next opponent.

For example, if I would have a game matchup where they BOTH register on my chart as M+ quality teams, but say the road team is favored......then I am leaning and looking hard at the HOMIES getting points in an EVEN matchup!
