Thanks fellas, hope you had a profitable Super Bowl, now it's officially hoops season!
Now for tonight's game.
The betting public seems to like the Cyclones in this spot, after all, they have beaten Kansas in the past two meetings dating back to last season. Iowa State handled Kansas on their home floor back on Jan. 17th, winning 86-81. The Cyclones were 3.5-point favorites in that game.
Two weeks later, and here we are with the same two teams, only a different venue, and the line slingshots the other way, making the Jayhawks 7-point favorites. Remember when I was talking about how squares gauge their plays on past games? How many out there are going to follow the same dumb mindset, and say "Well, Iowa State already beat them once this year, no way they don't cover 7 points."
Maybe Iowa does cover seven, I'm not a psychic, and I certainly can't predict the future, but this line is begging for you to take the bait and back the Cyclones in my opinion.
The Jayhawks are averaging 78.3 points per game at home, and their defense is stout, holding opponents to 62.2 points. Teams are only making on average 22.6 shots on 57.7 attempts. On top of that, Kansas has the edge over Iowa State in 3-point shooting, free throw shooting, rebounds, and overall defense. Kansas also has a better bench in my opinion.
The total for this game is currently 152, the highest total of the night, so the books are expecting some points. Kansas was 32-75 from the field back on Jan. 17th, shooting 42%, and still put up 81 points on the road. Nothing should change here, Kansas will easily score 75+ tonight.
Kansas is 7-1 SU, and 4-0 at home when scoring 70-84 points. They are 6-2 ATS overall, and 3-1 ATS at home, when scoring 70-84 points. Kansas 79 Iowa State 68.
Tail or fade, best of luck folks
