Resting Players

Season winding down, conference tourneys around the corner, making real tough to gauge anything that may happen in the games. Let me know if I am on the right track and stay away until conference tournery`s or I am I dead wrong. 

I can’t recall ever seeing college basketball teams rest players 

wow, what a sad state we're in if true...even college kids, load mgmt??? Jordan, Larry and Magic would shoot any coach that suggested that

Resting players??? 

Rest 20yr olds ???

Interesting.. I never considered this. Still somewhat fairly new to the mechanics of college basketball, I remember reading yesterday that it's "late" into the season and he/she wouldn't lay that large of a number to another team (financial bankroll suicide), due to teams getting ready for March madness, even though they have been covering large spreads the whole season. Is there truth to this? 

I could see mid Majors who already have locked a seed in their Conf tourney, and they can't really improve (or drop) and they must win that tourney to get the Automatic berth.   UC Irvine fits that bill (they are up 4.5 games over all others in Conf. and will not get an At Large bid), so check their starters Minutes over the season and see if next game they are reduced. 

Other than that scenario, just don't see coaches resting players more than normal.  they have jobs on the line, and # of Wins is a huge metric come contract negotiations time... 

Plus, these guys only play 2 games a week, occasionally 3.  Not much "load" to manage IMO...
