great call on Eastern Ill it was close; they were down 15 with 5 to go and almost won the game; WOW; I played a throw away 45 dollar 4 teamer and hit it with La Monroe and played them just because they were at home and catching points with the public all over FL ATL; game started 18-2 FL ATl; but Monroe came back and actually had a chance to put it into OT but missed both ft; thanks for the pick

no offense to anyone, but can people stop cluttering up neils thread with stuff like, your play is not looking great 10 minutes into the game, or going back and forth with someone else about something stupid. Or just yelling or complaining about someone else. This is the only post i am making in this thread about it, so please dont respond, just making a request. It is really annoying and very poor behavior to come in and clutter up a thread of a good capper with meaningless junk. Cant people just come in and say nice job, or good luck, or asking questions that are capping related, but why all the comments on how a game is going. it really is worthless.

12/19 Results: Hit Eastern (despite not knowing of the flu that has impacted what seems like the entire team). Sometimes you get lucky, that was probably one of them. Invested quite a bit in a game that I'd had circled for a few weeks. Still covered despite the absence of three key players, so the value was incredible. Missed a good spot with mirror identities in SEMO and Jacksonville State running and gunning with the JUCO game to easily go over the posted total of 124? Clearly, a missed spot. Another Ohio Valley game saw Morehead recently beating Murray State, looking ahead to Austin Peay and losing a game that they probably shouldn't have to Tenny State. They'll show up in this week's conference roady at Austin Peay. Other than that, Illinois lost to UIC Saturday. Pretty embarrassing loss.

12/20 Notes: Illinois State hasn’t played in over a week, which could be well-needed for a team with zero identity. Coming into the year, Jankovich wanted to get up and down some more, and that hasn’t worked as they are one of the slower teams in the country, primarily bc they lack some scorers on offense (and they have played 8 straight to the under). UNC-Wilmington I have noted on multiple times as having Peterson come in here and run a great offense. He turned both offenses around at Coastal Carolina and Appalachian State in his first season, and he’s doing it here as well. Knowing Jankovich, the time off allowed him to put some new stuff in, and probably put a focus on getting more attempts at the basketball with the whole quality over quantity thing here. Assuming UNC-Wilmington is able to score as it has been, probably a good spot for ISU to end that under-streak. ValpoEMU is a part of the Lou Henson Tournament, which takes place in Rochester MI, the home of Oakland University. Valpo should bounce back after an embarrassing loss to Toledo, and should have a big advantage at the guard position, as EMU has no presence outside of post-man Bowdry. Not interested in DavidsonSt. John’s. Same for a few other games. Nevada lacks offense, but Portland State has one of the worst defenses in the country and they play a decent pace. Both Western Illinois and Creighton neither have good offenses from the guard position. Creighton might have one of the best inside presences in the Valley when you look at their post’s, especially with the addition of Echenique who transferred from Rutgers I believe and just became eligible in Creighton’s last game. Creighton fills in the rest with not-so good shooters and some decent ballhandlers, and McDermott as I have alluded to before doesn’t really like to play many people. Because of the inside presence they have, I expect the tempo of their offense to slow down a bit more to get these big guys involved together, and they will be a much better defensive squad. This showed in their last game as they only attempted 48 shots played a solid defensive game allowing 60 points, even on 50% shooting from three-point line. Teams will have to look to the outside rather than go inside on these shot-blocking trees. Western Illinois is coached by Jim Molinari, who should be pretty familiar with the style of play Creighton and MVC teams bring to the table. He is the former coach at Bradley. Like Creighton, they really aren’t strong at scoring. They take pride in defending teams and slowing teams down (Missouri scored 66 on them, Wyoming – 64, only two teams have scored over 70 on them this year). Molinari also has experience against McDermott when Molinari was at the helm and an assistant at Minnesota when they would play Iowa State. Neither of these teams really have found their swagger on the offensive end, and both want to slow it down to take their times and get the best shot each trip down the court. WIU’s offense doesn’t scare me in the least bit, and their bigs should be able to defend Creighton decent on the inside. It should be a really slow game from a matchup standpoint. One thing to note, Summit Defensive player of the year in Ceola Clark might not play tonight as he has missed the last three games with a toe injury. If he plays, that’s great and helps, if he doesn’t, it really shouldn’t affect their defense on the outside. Playing the under bc of the defensive presence on the inside here. Two good teams who are really struggling on the offensive end and working in some new kinks which helps this from a defensive standpoint. There are much better games Tuesday, a ton of Ohio Valley matchups.

Sorry, I know nothing about St. Francis NY. Northwestern's offense has been pretty good, interested to see how shooting in Madison Square Garden affects them.

Thanks so much for your indepth writeups, you are truly amazing. Here is something that might interest you, on the SportsinSight injury report dated 11/20, G John Wilkins was listed as ineligible 1st semester for Ill St, but I checked and he has been playing the last 5 games averaging 7pts and 5 rbs. He is a freshman, so he could give them a litttle more offense if you haven't noticed this!
